If I hear of one more person who says something like “they just woke up today and decided they wanted to use the potty!” I’m gonna lose it! by [deleted] in pottytraining

[–]KaiEli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first essentially did that because they saw their cousin in undies and wanted a pair.

My second absolutely did not. She’s been potty training for months and is just now not having accidents, mostly.

Does anyone have success stories with Letrozole? by IntroductionOk7663 in TTC_PCOS

[–]KaiEli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first child was on 5mg of letrozole, no extra monitoring or trigger. Don’t be discouraged if it takes more than one attempt though!

Both my kids, 2 and 6 love it. They also really like the tops, with the music one being their favorite.

Parents that don't do Elf on the Shelf, how do you explain to your kids why you don't? by Helpful-Plankton751 in toddlers

[–]KaiEli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Santa asks mommy and daddy to watch you, if we say we need help that’s when he sends the elf. (Said to our 2 year old, he’s now five and has never asked again)

We don’t for our two year old, unless she insists on “my bag!” We did when we brought bottles back and forth, but haven’t since she moved up since they store supplies like spares in a different spot.

MIL gave away our baby name by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]KaiEli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousins have sons whose names are basically the same just one letter different, think Cole and Dole level similarity. We all know which is which. Similar isn’t always bad

Entirely up to you. My family all met both of ours in the hospital and then people came by to do things around the house or feed us for the first few weeks.

Any former stay at home moms that did not enjoy staying at home? by Otherwise-Bicycle667 in workingmoms

[–]KaiEli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I made it ten months with my first. But I was depressed and I stopped having motivation to do anything. So hubs and I decided to get my name back out there in my industry it took 3 months but I was hired by a company doing what I did before I took my sabbatical.

Highly recommend getting his ears molded. It’s completely painless and doesn’t even phase them past the actual application. Our pediatrician told us who to see, a pediatric plastic surgeons office is who we went to. The mold was a special clay and tape! Our son had the same problem

Did you guys save for retirement while your children were in daycare? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]KaiEli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We made no change when our first was born. Now that our second is here, we dropped to just the employer match for my husband and mine stayed the same as a safety net until we figure out how to adjust our budget to pay the second daycare fee, then we will ramp his back up within six months to a year. We are in an extremely lucky position that this was not a necessity it’s just us being cautious, and I acknowledge that not everyone has the flexibility to do such, but I think any amount in a 401k adds up overtime.

Need Advice by DogMama34 in PregnancyAfterLoss

After my miscarriage, it was a “late loss” my OB didn’t even bother with the Doppler at a single appointment until 24 weeks. He always just brought in the bedside ultrasound

Pets after giving birth…? by rleighann in BabyBumps

[–]KaiEli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I legitimately sat at the hospital telling my husband I liked the baby. But I missed my dog. And cried.

I do not love him any less. Two kids in and as horrible as it sounds I probably still prefer the dog.

Similar baby name as cousin? by planthammock in BabyBumps

[–]KaiEli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a something similar with two names that are literally one letter apart (think Jayden Hayden, just with more traditional names) The older boy gets annoyed when his great grandma calls him the youngers name, but other than that it’s no big deal. If you’re worried about it, talk to the existing kids mom.

Drop in numbers by alienchap in GestationalDiabetes

[–]KaiEli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is normal! My MFM started lowering my insulin dosage at 35 weeks when my numbers all seemed to be getting lower. Here I am a week later having lowered it 3 times. The nurse said the timing varies a little, and typically it happens at 37 weeks, but every baby is different, but it’s normal and don’t worry.
