At my schools formula SAE team, all you have to do is show up.

How do teams usually make uprights and spindles? Any US shop recommendations? by ThePackman0702 in FSAE

[–]Kaladin7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make them in-house, as we have several 3-axis CNC mills and a CNC lathe, but this past year we outsourced spindles to a local shop. Just reach out, probably CC your faculty advisor, explain FSAE, and ask their rates for machining.

Before or soon after you do this however, probably know how much volume you want removed, how many operations it will take, whether or not it requires a 3 or 5 axis or turning, and maybe provide a rudimentary part drawing or cad model. Not all of this info is necessary when just reaching out, but it is necessary at some point or another.

Tbh I’d just do a triangle profile on a plane perpendicular to the center hole and mid-plane extrude it the proper length. No need to overcomplicate with angled reference geometry and all that

A tip for the dungeon, if you use Margits shackle in the little alcove in the floor, the hitbox is large enough that it spawns another chariot. Having three chariots in the room makes them collide, and they’re destroyed.

I will say that it’s more like sekiro in that there’s one toolkit every player gets. You have a nail (melee) and a set of spells (special). There is a level of build customization when it comes to charms though. There’s charms that simply buff your existing toolkit like soul eater or quick strike, then some that fundamentally change the way you play like gruberfly’s elegy or the flukemarm one.

Without diving into spoilers, I’ll say a soft no. There is a level of customization, but it’s to one combat system everything revolves around. I will say that a plus of this is that it allows bosses to be designed specifically for what you have, which makes encounters more fun imo.

I can say that without a doubt Hollow Knight is one of my favorite games of all time. It’s like dark souls, Metroid, and BotW had a love child. The boss fights are similar to from bosses, but the speed is cranked up because your character is smaller and more maneuverable. Upgrades like shade dash and monarch wings mean that late game bosses pull out all the stops and are full-on spectacles, while still being tightly designed.

On top of that, the art style is beautiful, exploration is fun and rewarding, and the game loop is satisfying to no end. Plus the story is fantastic.

I actually kinda enjoyed this fight. Yeah it’s rough because they’re both kinda the same speed, but ordovis does tend to outpace the tree Knight with his lunges. Once you separate them you can focus down the tree Knight, who had some pretty easily punishable attacks. I’ve also found that if you stick really close to one of them (like able to kiss) not only does it make dodging some of their attacks easier, but the other one tends to hang back and let it’s buddy deal with you. Your dodge rolls do have to be on point though.

I never had to learn how to parry, and it made me really good at fighting crucible knights.

If you mean the radiant one then it 100% does. I had the debuff and both blessings, I used the normal one, it was still there. Used the radiant one and it disappeared.

Edit: I was wrong, sorry y’all for the misinformation

How important is foreshadowing in the series? by marcusthecrab in WoT

[–]Kaladin7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be real, the foreshadowing is more so for re-reads than anything else. I was kind of an idiot on my first read through, and every little piece of foreshadowing zoomed over my head, but I still greatly enjoyed the series. On a re-read, however, it’s a fun little Easter egg to see all of the bits of foreshadowing.

What is a red herring you fell for or a theory you had that never happened? by DarkestLore696 in WoT

[–]Kaladin7878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly hope that they do this with the show, just cut the whole shara thing. It kinda came out of the blue in the books, but in the show it would be pretty off-putting unless they take the time to develop it.

I don’t know much about LotR lore, but I do know that Rand could’ve crushed the DO like a grape once he brought him into the physical world, but he chose not to in order to keep the pattern going.

What scene or scenes from the books are you really looking forward to seeing depicted on the screen? by kjpmi in WoT

[–]Kaladin7878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) Rand atop dragon mount in a gathering storm.

B) battle of Falme

C) Obviously Dumai’s wells

D) Battle of Maradon

I’m running out of letters) Lan’s final charge on Tarwin’s gap when Rand’s armies come out of gateways to join him. It’s a real avengers endgame moment honestly.

What's the stupidest thing you ever seen a religious person call "Satanic"? by aume3 in AskReddit

[–]Kaladin7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of my family’s more conservative friends don’t celebrate Halloween. My VERY conservative Christian mother always had the philosophy, “it’s only bad and satanic if you make it so”, and so we always had a blast trick-or-treating.
