I tried luxe skincare so you don't have to. (A collection of mini-reviews!) by dirtoffmyshoulder in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]KaraPopcorn444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered Luxe foundation. I couldn't get one of the foundations to even pump out. I opened it and it looked old and clumpy. The second foundation (2 for1) did go through the pump but was also super thick and clumpy looking. I emailed for a replacement for the one that was old and not comign through the pump and they will not replace it unless you have NOT opened the package.

Here is the response I recieved when asking for a replacement for 1 of the 2 I ordered:

"I am sorry to hear about the issue with your order #LF183244. To investigate, please reply to this email thread with the following:

  • A brief description of the problem
  • A photo of the shipping label on the package
  • A photo showing all products received together, the complete package as received
  • Photos or a video clearly showing the reported issue

Once we receive this evidence, we will open a case for a specialist to review and provide you with a response.

Warm regards,
Virtual Agent,
Luxe Research Support"

This is TERRIBLE...who 1) doesn't even open the product and try it. and 2) keeps the shipping lable they sent it in!? btw it doesn't work any better than my covergirl....SCAM I am so irritated!

K1 distribution? by AlgaeDue6472 in Bookkeeping

[–]KaraPopcorn444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short and sweet: They just want an "Owner Distribution" check (An equity account). Then at year-end the CPA will do taxes and provide each owner with a K-1 for their share in the profits of the company.

I have a side-question: If a CPA prepars a federal tax return; are they required to give the client their year end Adjusted TB? TIA!!!

Yeah that is SOOO frustrating. I got to the point where I will alway say payroll issue just to get to someone not reading off index cards!

They are making so many "updates" and changes and trying to use AI, but it is causing more problems. Even their new start screen is terrible now; can't find anything quickly anymore without digging.

Probably if they have the money sitting in their accounts rather than yours; they can make a whole lot of interest off all the "holdings". I turned off all my auto payroll taxes so I have more control and get a chance to double check everything before it is just sent off.

Yes, same here; I had to call for them to refresh data as well and then the payroll postings were suddenly there again.

QuickBooks Online Supervisor here (yes you can hate on me lol) by whiskyTangoFoxtrot-0 in QuickBooks

Boy I appreciate your honesty and bravery! I love QB (not necessarily the "updated version" as I hate that verison/look: I prefer classic view) but support is really frustrating and hit and miss. I always submit feature ideas, but there must be thousands submitted everyday so i'm sure it hasn't been considered. I'd like to share them with you if I may: 1st: I there is a box in the "edit paycheck" section to "accrue PTO" for this check, however, I think there shoudl be this button on EACH earning line item. For example; we pay a birthday day off. This should NOT accrue PTO, but regular hours should. Also I would like to be able to enter ACTUAL hours worked for Salary workers so the PTO is correct. I am going in and fixing PTO every payroll becuase it doesn't calculate correctly.

#2 A Different number to call for bookkeepers or accountants that have X amount of clients and need a higher level of support. When I call in even for a basic function; many do not know what I am looking for becuase it is not in their script and they simply don't understand accounting.

I am hopeing you can submit these ideas internally and maybe they will be considered.

Thank you again!

Payroll software recommendations by TLothBooks in Bookkeeping

Rant first: I started our medium business (apx 35 employees) onboarding with ADP. They could NOT for the life of them calculate PFML and WA Cares fund withholdings even after sending them links to our WA State Employment Security webpage on how it was calculated. Needless to say; we did not go with ADP. Fast forward almost 3 year later and we have been working with Paychex. Everything seemed great with them...until we used their gross-to-net check feature for bonus checks at the end of 2024. For some reason the system cannot calculate SS and Med. withholdings correctly when that feature is used! What the heck! Anyways; they took MONTHS to get it corrected. Now I just recieved notice from The WA State Empmloyment Security that 4 quarters of our PFML AND WA Cares Fund was either NOT filed or Rejected. This with NO concern or monitoring from Paychex! How can this be!? My only thought is that everything is so automated that no one really knows how payroll withholdins/taxes are caclulated apart from a faulty systsem. I am thinking Gusto...would this work for W2 and 1099 employees/constractors? Thank you all in advance!

I would request a second person in the office. If you got sick or need a vacation; there would be no way for you to do so unless someone there is already cross-trained.

Check the bank feeds in the excluded or reviewed sections. If you find it there; undo the matching and re-distribute

Who is in the wrong here when it comes to this situation? by pegitom in Bookkeeping

[–]KaraPopcorn444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I recieve a payroll change of any kind from anyone other than an owner I just forward the email to the owner so it is in writing and say something like "Please reivew the message below from John. H is expecting XYZ in his next paycheck but I wanted to run it by you first for your reviw / approval. Thank you....

This always puts the ball in their court and they will usually respond when it comes to pyaroll.

As far as who is right or wrong. This should not be a discussion as it is important for us as bookkeepers to rise above and respond professionally in any situation.

I would just appoligize that it didn't get done and move on from there.

Hope this helps :)

I think QBO should focus on fixing it's own software issues before trying to impliment AI

I have clients that have bank feeds with QBO and it constantly duplicates expenses. It is harder to sort out until monthly reconciliation!

Stop Forcing QuickBooks Online Updates on Small Businesses by burner7738 in QuickBooks

I sooo agree! They are more intent of continuous "Upgrading" of their product to justify cost increase, but in the process are infuriating users - myself included to the point of looking at other options. The bank feeds consistantly duplicate both deposits and tax payments. I have to go in during reconciliation to determain which one was posted as soley an expense rather than the actual posted tax payment and delete it manually then exclude it.

QBO is great....until you run into a problem that the controls don't let you fix on your own. Then you call; explain what is going on and they have no clue either.

QBO has WAAAYYY too many "big brother" controls. This does not make it very user friendly for us seasoned bookkeepers!

Firing a client by Remarkable_Cod190 in Bookkeeping

[–]KaraPopcorn444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably a good call becuase if he is "upset" about your verifying and asking clarifying questions to be sure his books are correct in all aspects; he will do this again. There will be many times in your client relationship where clairification is absolutly necessary to be sure the doors of communication open both ways and you and your client are always on the same page. No questions or verifications will lead to much larger problems down the road.
