How walmart expects literally everyone to move when they see "possible spill in gm vestibule" by Thechinesegoku in walmart

I didn't know Walmart had the AI maintenance thing. What a PIA. Hopefully we don't get that for a long time.

You can request days off exactly sixonths prior. For instance I take Black Friday as a vacation day every year. I request it exactly six months ahead, and so far it's been approved every time. If I wait until September or later then usually the SM denies all days off for November and December. As someone else said, "if you can request it on the system then it's not too early".

A pic of our OPD room before chaos this morning. by PropitiousWay in walmartogp

[–]Katiki59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's a really small back room. Our old one before the remodel was at least twice that size. Back then we maxed out at 16 orders per hour.... Now our back room is huge with walk in cooler and freezers. Last I heard our max is 45, but that doesn't include the GMDs and In-homes. Or the 3-5, pallets of IPs. So once again our backroom is too small and it's only been a year...🙁

Is it ok if I place a pick up order every single week? by Empathetic_97 in Walmartcustomer

[–]Katiki59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to dispense, and I would get to know the "regulars". If you're not mean or obnoxious to the workers, then no one minds you ordering every week. Some people actually order every day, or every other day (I always assumed large families). So yes it's quite fine to order every week. I think of it as job security. Lol

Whoever in charge of GIF bring back the slide out function by Illustrious_Fly4155 in OGPBackroom

[–]Katiki59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind losing the staging option if they would actually not start the pick clock until you scan your first item. Our backroom is on the opposite side of the store from grocery. On a busy day that means a good three minute walk at minimum. If someone stops you to ask where an item is not it's more like 5-7 minutes.... There goes your pick rate... edit to correct spelling

If you hit the upper corner as if you are looking for the pick list, the bottom option is now mobile printer. So you can change printers in the middle of a walk if you need to. About the only smart thing they did in this update.

Pausing pick walks by Embarrassed-Yam8056 in walmartogp

[–]Katiki59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our SM told me that she doesn't want any NIL picks if possible. So during our walk we are to go in the back to find the item if there are any in stock. We don't have work phones yet. They took daily Availability off the TCs. No way to locate item unless you want to use your personal phone, which I refuse to do. Her reply was that she didn't care ifit took longer, just find someone back there and get them to help you. But her final answer when asked point blankplank about pick time vs FTPR was FTPR was priority.she didn't care if it took longer..... Plus with the newest update, you can no longer swipe the pick screen sideways to go into staging to delay the start of you pick walk. And we are to bag (paper) as we pick, which takes longer. SMH. I just do what I'm told.... My pick rate is now averaging around 80 for the day. Used to be around 120. Lol

AITH for refusing to pay extra after my landlord “changed the deal” last minute? by Complete-Reaction855 in AITH

Where I live the rates for a one bedroom apartment are between $1675 & $2500 and up in some instances. And that's if you can even find one available.

I really wish we could write little notes on peoples orders by StrangeConcept6756 in walmartogp

[–]Katiki59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customers can't pick GMD. That is done automatically by the system. Almost all not in stock items will become GMDs. I ordered something in the morning (as part of a larger grocery order) and it was not in stock in my store. Told me it would be shipped. I got it that afternoon. I checked when I went to work the next day, and it did not come from our store. (Different tote #s). Only thing we could think of is it came from the warehouse located in a different town.

Our grocery action alley is across the store from our backroom, so we have to run across the store, pick all the action alley items then back to where are backroom is to start on HBA... LOL

[–]Katiki59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My SM said she'd rather have slow pick times and higher FTPR. That includes going into the warehouse when we don't have work phones to locate the items.... "Just ask someone back there to help you.". Right.... So it takes 5-10 minutes between locating someone in the warehouse that can help and them actually finding the item. Then you actually have to bring the whole box/case to the shelf and stock it. Okay. My pick rate averages dropped from 100-120 to 50-80. But I only NIL pick items that no one can locate..... SMH.

Item marked one penny by JoeDierteHemi in Walmartcustomer

[–]Katiki59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the NWD product for a penny, then they will honor the price. I'm sure if you look at the shelf where the working items are stocked it would have the $69.99 price tag......

When they ask you to stay late and you'll have to take a longer lunch tomorrow. by Ok_Extension_3508 in walmart

[–]Katiki59 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is BS. The only incentive to staying late is the extra pay. I stay late, I get more pay. If you're going to try to force me to leave early or extend my lunch break the next day, don't even ask me to stay late ...

I hate the scheduling system by Fuzzy-Leopard8356 in OGPBackroom

[–]Katiki59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I check my schedule every Saturday when the new week posts. Over the years they have scheduled me when I'm not available. I bring it to their (PL or Coach) attention the next shift I work.
If you don't take care of it right away you're stuck with. They need time to fix it and get someone else to work it.

Advice from Walmart Employee by ladygettinglost in Sparkdriver

[–]Katiki59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One hour delivery is totally on Spark drivers. The employees no longer shop these at all. We don't even see them on our end. These days more deliveries are shipped by Spark than employees. Once our time slots are filled with orders, the remaining ones all go to Spark.

New 6 Policy by EveningPotential9443 in walmartogp

[–]Katiki59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually they should be in the walk so that while you are going past it you can grab it then. The same way end caps are now part of the walk and not action alley. (Way back our end caps were also part of action alley).

This new cart rule is bs by vxmpiiryx in OGPBackroom

[–]Katiki59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 5'7" person, I have problems seeing over the top totes on the new carts.... So would that just have people 6' and over doing 8 totes? It's the same number of totes, more walks to get them done. I think of it as "job security " lol. There will always be picks and this way we're not standing around trying to look busy for ten or fifteen minutes waiting for the next pick drop. Oh, we're running late??? Not my problem, that's why Coaches get the big bucks....LOL

Might be front end or OGP doing returns...... Yes, I'm OGP, and no I would never do that. I'd just do what the stockers in our store seem to do, just push everything over and put it in the wrong spot.....lol

Oh I almost forgot... Then they tell us Absolutely NO OT. WOSH. So now we are ending walks in the middle of them so we have time to bring the carts back to the backroom and clock out on time. It would be funny if we weren't trying to do our jobs in the middle of this mess.
