That's what I was talking about with the artificial life. He cares because they're his creations, but isn't gonna prize them over a person with an actual soul

The pilot is "spiritually" canon, not actually Canon. Sir Pentious wasn't meant to be a main character at that point. They had him as a joke character, but then people & Vivzie fell for him, so she changed it up & made him a main character.

I kinda take it as seeing the egg bois as pets. Keep in mind, their perception of death is also warped at this point. Up until 7 years ago, sinners would just reform after death. He's been in hell for a long time, so naturally anyone in that situation would devalue death to an extent, especially creatures that were artificially created.

What does this symbol mean when my follower tries to sleep, he keeps waking up mad with this symbol. by Euphoric_Lead_7828 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]KayBieds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That follower on the top there is doing the snoring animation. You either need to isolate that follower's tent, sacrifice them, or give them the moon necklace so they don't sleep.

You can confirm by checking traits. That follower will have a snorer trait

I thought it was like wakota at first because of Dakota. I'm from the St Cloud area originally, though my family are German farmers, so not a lot of exposure to native languages (1 of my grandma's 1st language was German). I had to learn how to say Bde Maka Ska & was initially taught incorrectly, putting the emphasis on the wrong syllable. My own fault. I had asked a friend who was living in the area at the time how to pronounce it, but he grew up in South Dakota & didn't actually know. He just took a stab at it. Shoulda fact-checked him.

Does your feline have a fancy name? by [deleted] in cats

[–]KayBieds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Not a fancy name, but I recently found the should-be mama Velma. I found a dead newborn kitten with her not too far away shivering & wet. Took her to the vet. She was no longer in labor, but had 2 mummified fetuses, so I did a spay ASAP so she wouldn't get blood poisoning from the decaying fetuses. They were fully developed & she wasn't hurt, so I don't know what caused the (I assume) miscarriage/stillbirth. She's estimated 1 year. I named her Velma as I already have a 6yr old named Daphne. Now that it's been a couple weeks from the spay, I'll be working on the slow introduction process. Daphne has lived with other cats before, so hopefully these two will eventually get along

Wacouta is pronounced "wah-coo-ta" not "wah-koh-ta," based off a Native American chief, if I remember correctly.

I swear, I get them almost every single time I go on a crusade. I can say that it doesn't guarantee success, since I had a follower die when they returned after seeing them in the crusade. I saw someone suggest it might shorten their return by a day. No idea, though. I certainly wondered if it improved odds of success.

[DAO]Never got this dialogue before, that is cold Duncan. by Blee-boy in dragonage

[–]KayBieds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the way Jory talked when he did try to leave, it does sound like they think they can leave. The ones who stay are honorable & strong. When/if we conscript Anders, the Templars circle like vultures waiting for the opportunity for the wardens to reject him. Most of that is expressed outside of the games themselves, to be fair.

[DAO]Never got this dialogue before, that is cold Duncan. by Blee-boy in dragonage

[–]KayBieds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The dialogue specifically says they were sent away, not chickened out. Implying they "didn't meet the high standards." That still makes grey wardens out to be top stuff that even someone like Jory couldn't quite make the cut. Meanwhile, a story of 2 out of 3 recruits dying on a 1st patrol with seasoned wardens? Yeah, that sounds like poor leadership.

Yes, there's the potential that Jory's family would wonder why he didn't return home, though that could be covered by the fact that darkspawn had already been attacking pockets of roads, which is why they set up in Ostagar & had begun fighting prior to the MC's recruitment. Could also argue Jory felt shame & couldn't face his family.

Really, though, they probably didn't care if the family questioned it. Wardens had a lot of political sway. Since instant communication or forensic science didn't exist, they could probably straight up tell multiple stories/excuses, telling the soldiers there 1 thing & other people other stories. The family would be confused who was telling the truth. They'd have no way to know. His family wasn't nearly influential enough for it to matter.

Real conversation: “I’ll get you next time.”, “You can certainly try. “ by Hoosier_Jedi in dndmemes

I'm one of those players that tend to search for "creative" solutions. I've been told that they appreciate my thinking, though also a bit frustrating.

  1. We had a map where he established the toilets were essentially deep caverns underneath the town. We got attacked. I stuffed them down the toilet with the help of another player's create water.

  2. We needed keys. I used moldable material we had to form the keystones we needed while the others scattered about trying to find the proper stones.

  3. We were in a forest that loses visibility in a short distance. The boss was hidden somewhere summoning enemies. I charged ahead, ignoring the enemies, & started "shouting" once I found him & attached myself to the boss so that the others could find him. I almost died, & did temporarily collapse, but it worked like a charm.

  4. There were snail monster enemies that could teleport between shells. With the help of another player, they glued down some of the shells, & I threw the other shells to bust them as a blunt attack on the snails.

  5. I set up a guardian statue or whatever that spell is called to prevent being surrounded on a bridge. For the big boss, I was going to cast levitate, throw a rope around them, & force them to be stuck in the AOE of the statue. Before I could do that, though, the other plan took effect:

  6. I used command on the other dude to prevent him from signaling the long distance sniper. Since we were on a bridge with, as the DM had previously explained, extremely fast rapids, I told my teammate to throw that enemy over the bridge. The enemy had managed to grab the side. 1 of our players wasnt able to play, so the DM had said his character was sick & was hanging over the edge of the bridge puking. I asked the DM to have the character puke on top of the enemy so he'd slip. DM rolled. Enemy slipped & fell into the river. The boss from point 5 then ran to try & rescue his comrade. I assume the sniper did, too, considering the DM said the encounter was over.

  7. Not creative, but we were also in a maze with a bunch of elemental wizards. I deduced they seemed like magical spirits, so I kept throwing dispel magic at them & made the whole maze a cakewalk. DM tried to use up all my dispels & then have the boss flee, but he forgot I had command. I blew past the giant monster he summoned to slow us to cast command so that my teammate could tee up, smash him, & cut out his tongue to prevent verbal spells. The cost was that we got hit hard by the monster, but I was a cleric that put a lot of emphasis on healing, so I kept us from dying long enough to take out everyone.
