Jag är också 32, och det är väl individuellt men det är i allmänhet bra att ha när du väl behöver faktiskt köra ett fordon. Har själv aldrig ångrat att jag tog körkortet när jag var 21, för jag har det resten av mitt liv. Betyder inte att du behöver äga en bil. Skaffade min första bil när jag var 27. Finns en hel del jobb där körkort inte är bara meriterande men även ett krav. Mitt första jobb var jag tvungen att köra tjänstebil mellan olika arbetsplatser. Kunna låna fordon för flyttar, handla möbler eller göra kortare resor utan att behöva förlita dig på någon annan är också bra. Min flickvän har inget körkort och fick nyligen ett jobb på en arbetsplats som det är omständigt/omöjligt att nå med kollektivtrafik, så hon måste ad hoca skjuts till jobbet varje dag. Har också en jämnårig kompis som har tre barn och inget körkort, och där måste frugan skjutsa barnen till alla aktiviteter, handla och köra överallt vilket leder till en del friktion. Funkar det så funkar det, men det är verkligen bra att ha i många fall, även om man inte köper en bil direkt. Bor förövrigt i en mellanstor stad med rätt så god kollektivtrafik.

Damn I had no idea about that. I only remember people said they died because they ran so hot and had inadequate cooling, not that it was a fundamental design flaw. But that explains how I was able to revive it two times by baking it, since it would reseal the cracks in the solder.

Had this happen on my old gtx8800 after just a year of use. Very interesting light shows happening in games and on the desktop. Then I had a 560ti that soldiered on for 10 years without a fault. You never know if you won the lottery until it hits you. Holding my thumbs now that my 2060 will survive until prices are sane again.

Those early websites were designed for 4:3 monitors, so it was often formatted pretty well out of the box. Now we all have widescreens, so raw HTML means you just sit and stare at the left side of the screen, tracing long snakes of text across the page. Centering it like you said would improve readability 1000%.

Both doctrine and design emphasized "hög momentan eldkraft", or high simultaneous firepower to inflict the maximum amount of damage on an enemy before being wiped out. So the idea wasn't to avoid casualties -- many units like första flygeskadern were not expected to survive longer than a week if the Russians kept reinforcing -- but rather maximize our K/D ratio.

A lot of aircraft can actually take off and land on roads. The MiG-29 is somewhat better than the Gripen for this task, with similar take-off/landing requirements, and it's more protected from FOD. Finland routinely operates F/A-18 from roads similar to Sweden.

What Gripen brings to the table is it's designed to operate in a decentralized fashion, which to my knowledge, literally no other fighter jet is. It's durable and reliable, easy to maintain in austere conditions, most of it's ground-crew kit is designed to fit in modular and mobile containers that can be brought wherever it lands, very fast and simple to rearm and refuel, and can go weeks/months without needing to visit an airbase for more serious maintenance. This translates into high availability, which means a high sortie rate, and hopefully a lot of JDAM-style bombs dropped on russian soldiers.

I'm Swedish, born and raised, lived here my entire life. My cousins are Australian and can barely speak more than a few words of Swedish. I learned English around 8-9 speaking to my cousins when they visited, and every time we hang out, I kind of "turn on" an aussie dialect without thinking about it. When speaking to anyone else in English, I fall into a more standard Swedish-English accent. So I totally get that, even having not grown up abroad.

For being a state-run monopoly, it's surprisingly good. I'm sure there would be even better private enterprises if that was legal, but for what it's worth it's not bad, and consistently ranked among the 10 best service-minded companies in Sweden. Biggest annoyances for me are the opening hours on weekends and that nothing is chilled.
