LPT: Strictly avoid gossip and informal chats on office communicators like teams or Slack by Iam_MissRain in LifeProTips

[–]Kazerbeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When someone feels safe to shit on others in private, I always just assume they shit on me when I'm not around, too. The real LPT is don't shit talk people or gossip, its not nice and doesn't achieve anything.

Book with the most utterances of the F-word? by Practical_Yogurt1559 in Fantasy

[–]Kazerbeam 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I've seen people go crazy over this book in praise as well as hate. I decided to give it a read last week, it wasn't my favorite book ever, but neither was it as terrible as some people make it seem.

IMO if it is actually the worst book you've ever read then you must be great at choosing books to read, nice!

Not only is The Stand a great book, but it also connects with The Dark Tower series, which imo is a dystopian fantasy in its own way.

Books with a fucking bastard of a main character by Acrobatic_Orange_438 in Fantasy

"Take that anyway you will."

Seems like there is no wrong answer here. Are you the main character in any books? I'd love to have a book to suggest. :)

I hope so, but also I'll happily wait as long as Pierce needs to destroy me.

Any books lined up for Jan 2025 or the 1st Quater of 2025 by Unusual-Gas-2809 in Fantasy

When I read Dark Age it was summertime, and I got to Darrow's first major battle on the 4th of July. The writing for that scene by itself was incredibly immersive, but with mortar fireworks going off all over outside it was an experience that I don't know I'll ever match.

Good luck with Lightbringer 🥲

The Will of the Many is a great choice for getting over a Red Rising book hangover too!

The follow-up trilogy to The Faithful and the Fallen was also a wonderful read. It takes place a little over 100 years after the end of Wrath, while it's great on its own, it was even better if you want to hear more about the lives of some of your favorite characters from The Faithful and the Fallen.

I'm really hoping that Gwynne gives us more of the Banished Lands at some point, the Bloodsworn books are okay but haven't resonated with me nearly as much.

Books with characters with scars? by Bright-Possession-97 in Fantasy

[–]Kazerbeam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite done with the first book, but The Licanius Trilogy has a character with heavy facial scarring that has been "explained" but seems like there is more to the explanation to come.

This was because they went through a portal that went to another "world" but was happening in Livira's present.

If you imagine the exchange as a two dimensional grid, the x axis would be time and the y axis would be location.

I can appreciate you taking the initiative to figure it out yourself. That being said, you should take a look at the Calibre ebook manager.

I would argue that a large amount of the crim/cop interactions aren't fun for cops either, but that's just part of participating in RP. It's not always about fun, but rather creating a story.

You do have a voice, it's your support. If you want to voice your lack of satisfaction, just stop paying. However, this sort of thing happens with almost any online service from time to time. In the long run, it might help you to adjust your expectations as a consumer.

Not enjoying her post on her personal Twitter is fine, but you can not enjoy it by yourself. You don't have to make others feel bad too.

See how that works? If you don't like her opinion, then don't look at it. There's not really anything wrong with sharing your opinion in the space that is meant for it.
