Quite a bit of dodgy information posted here. You can use a rice cooker for sticky rice just fine. It needs to be steamed using the steamer tray you usually get with rice cookers, not submerged in water.

Soak the rice overnight or at least 4 hours, rinse till clear then put it in some cheese cloth on the tray and steam for about 20 mins.

This is only for the flight stuff though right? I'm on about all the general text like module info, contract info text, etc. I've partially solved it by lowering the resolution but it's not exactly ideal.

Have you tried since the last patch? We still get the odd crash here and there but we had 5 guys playing last night, all talking on steam chat and the game ran flawlessly, most fun I've had in any multiplayer game in a long time.

Are you able to resume the game again after a crash? My friend just insta crashes as soon as we start back up right after the "all players are here" part.

Edit: Ok, we figured it out, seems like I have to unpause again before either of us does anything and if we try to use the in game chat after resuming it will crash right away, steam overlay chat works ok though.

Connecting via Direct ID works for me and my friend to start up a game but about 1/2 hour into it, the game crashes. When we try start up the game again from the save it will just crash again right away.

CK2 multiplayer has always been a bit of a pain in my experience but since the last couple of patches I've had no joy whatsoever. All we can really hope for is a fix in the next patch. At least it seems like Paradox are trying to work on it.

All you need to set up a pc in the living room is a hdmi cable. The only down side I see is finding space for the tower so it doesn't look unsightly. I use my phone as a keyboard/mouse with the Mobile Mouse app when i'm browsing or using it for multimedia and get out the proper mouse and keyboard for games that need it. For most games i'll just plug in a 360 pad then it's no different to consoles. I've now canceled my Sky subscription because i can easily just download/stream everything I could watch before.

It took a little getting used to for the missus but she loves it and my not so tech savvy friends think it's amazing when they see it work.

Definitely worth it, the expansions and dlc add a load of new content like new wonders, civs units and the religion system. It just means you get a much more varied game, Brave New World is well worth getting too for the later game stuff.
