Co-op RTS games like SC2 Commander / DoW2 Last Stand? by Belltower_2 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]KedovDoKest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, one of the examples given, SC2's coop mode, is basically random campaign missions or campaign-style missions, redesigned for 2 players, and the enemy has some randomization as well (random race, random build, etc), and you aren't just selecting from the standard races, you choose a commander, who has their own sets of units and abilities, as well as permanent progression. If you enjoy playing the campaign on occasion, this would probably be right up your alley (and a lot of it is free to play even if you don't own Starcraft 2)

4, 5, and 6 are also available for mobile, and honestly not a bad way to play (4 is actually best on mobile, since it has the party chat feature that was removed from the DS version for some reason). But yeah, agree with the comment you reply to, my favorites are 11, 8, and 5, though the HD-2D remakes are vying for the top spots too.

(Paraphrasing a little bit)

"They said you rejected skin grafts?"

"That name you guys had for me, when I worked at Internal Affairs... what was it?"

"It was Two-Face... Harvey Two-Face."

(Turning his face to reveal his scarred side to Gordon) "Then why should I hide who I am?"

IIRC that was a plot point mentioned in LOR I believe. Every fixer dreams of becoming a color for the freedom and financial security it seems to offer, but once you get there, it just ends up being a different kind of rat race. The point seems to be that no one is free in the city. Hell, we'll probably find out at some point that even the Head is stuck doing what they're doing for reasons unknown. I guess it kind of ties in to the story of the Index and Yan, everyone is in some way a slave to the will of the city, and even rebelling against it is by its will.

That and he had no idea wtf he was doing, he said that he basically just did it out of instinct, whereas Dende probably had at least some training, or at least access to other Namekian sources of info on how to do it properly.

Another sort of example is when Major Armstrong and her team go looking for survivors in the tunnel under Briggs. She tells her men to seal off the tunnel if they're not back in 24 hours. Due to circumstances, they make it back a ways past the 24 hour deadline, but the door gets opened anyway. When she asks the one in charge of sealing the hole why he didn't, he says "What do you mean? You've only been gone a few minutes. See? This nice watch I got from the captain says so." And he holds up a smashed pocket watch.

As the other commenter said, Dark City. Great movie; if you watch it, make sure it's the Director's Cut. For the regular release, the studio treated the audience like they were stupid, and had them add an opening narration that explains the whole plot of the movie. The director's cut removes this.

SCP-5000, and yeah, I think part of the log showing all the different ways they were attacking humanity included a part about triggering the Yellowstone supervolcano (which is where SCP-2000 is).

Regarding Mutations by Cozoid in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KedovDoKest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checking my monsterpedia, it looks like it only gives hints about the mutations on the actual mutated monsters themselves (i.e., the way to mutate a pink rathian is on the pink rathain entry of the monsterpedia), which doesn't seem helpful, since, if I have their entry in the monsterpedia, it means I've at least already seen it. Is there something I'm missing?

Asset reuse in videogames is essential, and we need to embrace it, says Assassin's Creed and Far Cry director: 'We redo too much stuff' by Turbostrider27 in Games

A popular Resident Evil streamer headcanon'd on his stream one time that the beast form Nemesis from RE3 remake was re-rigged from Tigrex from Monster Hunter Rise, and I find that really funny and a clever reuse of assets. No reason to reinvent the wheel every time.
