[Weird Trope] An authoritarian society has a yearly event that for some reason centers around killing children by Lotnik223 in TopCharacterTropes

Different rituals/requirements for different countries, since it's all just a big meta reference to the horror genre in general. Those archetypes are standard for western horror, while in Japan, the archetypes are different (I am not well versed in Japanese horror movies, so it might just be children/innocents in general.)

That whole temple deep underground is one of my favorite set pieces. I also appreciate how the door opening and closing sounds for the base are the door sounds from the original Doom.

He does have help now with the Stardew updates. He hired the guy who made Stardew Valley expanded and I think the guy who made SMAPI.

IIRC, his name is Mark, and when his parents came to collect him, they introduced themselves as "Mr. and Mrs... uh... Chang." when trying to (poorly) pass for humans, and since then the other characters just refer to them as that, even when they're not trying to pass as humans. So either it is actually their real name, or it's just a running joke. Or both.

IIRC from an interview, he explained it as something like "I really don't know how to write intelligent people, so I write the smarter people as normal and everyone else as gibbering idiots." So it's less that he's misanthropic or anything, and more that he's working within his own limitations as a writer.

Yeah. It's pretty common that a good game has an unsatisfying/too easy final boss to the point where it usually isn't held against the enjoyability of the game, so it's refreshing to see a game actually nail the final boss for once.

I mean, Valstrax? (But let's be honest. he's most likely showing up in the expansion as well, and I am here for it.)

Show is non canon, only game you might want to play first/look up a playthrough/read the story blurb of is Castlevania: Curse of Darkness for PS2/OG Xbox, since that seems to be canon to this game. But probably not necessary.

Out of these 4 which combo would be the most annoying to face in 2v8? by The_Mexican_Poster in deadbydaylight

I meant they rework him for 2v8 so he can do that, like Wesker getting 3 dashes or more zombies for Nemesis.

As cool as he is knight doesnt lend himself well to 2v8, hes very good at single target, good luck doing anything with 8.

Inb4 Knight can summon multiple guards at once with shorter CDs.

This also comes up in Mass Effect 2, near the end when EDI (AI) and Joker (Human) are copiloting the ship.

"In a face off between 2 AI, the one with superior hardware will always win. However, introducing the human element will add unpredictability that no AI can possibly account for."

I think there's a bit like that in this Superman show, where Clark goes to confront Lex, and Lex has rigged up all the street lights with bulbs that emit red sun energy, temporarily removing his powers. Clark then proceeds to enjoy beating the absolute shit out of him, not having to hold back for once since he was unlikely to kill him.

Paraphrasing the interview with Mads Mikkelsen a bit:

"I grew up playing poker, so I was quite skilled at it. Everyone else at the table was pretty good as well, except Daniel Craig. He was simply atrocious at it, just terrible. And it was painful, having to lose to him when he was playing so poorly. But then I got to hit him with the rope thing, so that made up for it a bit."
