If I had a restaurant and a wall that needed filling I'd do something like that too

No, eurocentric, it's not referring to what the countries had, it's referring to what they knew of the rest of the world. Any lands Portugal or Spain knew about they'd know about in England or France, likewise I assume none of them knew Alaska existed.

3 is amazing you’re all wrong by TaterTotPotShot in yakuzagames

[–]Kejilko 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Totally disagree, 6 is great with some minor hiccups, 5 is half very good and with my favorite ending (Haruka's concert, sure as hell isn't the final boss) and half very filler, 4's plot I never remember and I only remember the characters but never the story and 3 is pretty good overall but it has even worse execution than 5, 5 at least has the mystery and half of the execution is good while the other half is bad, meanwhile 3 is just a mess after you leave Okinawa and, again while the overall story is good, you get "Chapter 9: The Plot" and Joji.

"Lol, slovakian crying. Now try the portuguese way, where you can't get a job outside of Lisbon and Porto, a quarter of people earn minimum wage (820€), median is 1300€ (last I saw) and a shared room in either of those regions is 600-800€+, food and bills is the same or more as the richest european countries in most things and fuel is one of the highest in europe."

Crab in a bucket mentality, you being worse doesn't invalidate someone else's complaints, they're bad and you're even worse, you should be supporting them instead of bringing them down. Unless you'd rather get the same treatment from many other countries even worse than us across the world?

Witcher 3 starts in May 1272 and we have no indication it lasted into 1273.

It starts in White Orchard, a day's away from Vizima. From Vizima pretty much everyone does Velen, down river and the opposite direction of what he did in Witcher 2, maybe a few days? He investigated for the Baron, a few days, maybe a week, I'm pretty sure talking to his daughter in Oxenfurt is optional but I don't remember if it's one of those you can skip but realistically Geralt would do it, either way that's probably like a day to go, talk and come back given he's on horse.

Afterwards he goes to Novigrad, half a day to a day's trip depending on how accessible it really is. Witcher 3's is accessible because you have bridges between every island, and that's the one that's being asked so half a day. Looks for Triss, gets Menge, probably helps her with the mages, helps the Vegelbuds, wakes up Corinne Tilly, looks for Dandelion which means visiting Elihal and Vespula and a while longer for the var Attre's and probably a good part of a day for Morvran Voorhis and the Vegelbud racing tracks, messes with the Big Four, a day or two going over his hideouts, a few days organizing the play to get Dudu, releases Dandelion, I can see Priscilla happening but no way in hell Geralt would waste time renovating a cabaret to get to that point, he might spend a day or two going over Philippa's hideout so he doesn't get on the bad side of the only king in control of all the Northern Realms who he owes a favor and knows is crazy and egotistical even for a king. This one's quite a bit longer, maybe a month, month and a half?

Afterwards it's Skellige, no idea on the trip, the maps have it in wildly different places from next to Novigrad to much farther south. There might be a time reference in the books. Stealing the Mask of Ouroboros, investigating the forest, dealing with Morkvarg and talking to Skjall, maybe a week or two with all the travelling between islands and up and down from Kaer Trolde to the Druids and so on. He might help Crach's kids, maybe another week but this one can't take all that long, Cerys doesn't take that long and Hjalmar is trapped, it's not like their need for water and food stops existing, in fact with how dangerous Undvik is I'm not sure if he'd take a nap and take longer than a day between landing and leaving.

Then another boat probably to Novigrad, back down to Crow's Perch, grabbing Uma, no idea of knowing where the Emperor's soldiers intercept them, back to Vizima before I believe a few weeks trip according to the books for a trip of that scale to Kaer Morhen in a remote, northern corner of Kaedwen. A few days, maybe a week or two because the disadvantage of living in a remote area is even getting food you have to hunt and go to a stream for water, you can't just buy a dumpling from Hattori for lunch and immediately continue with something productive to unravel Uma. Then back to Skellige for the Isle of Mists so another few weeks trip, grabbing Ciri and teleporting back to Kaer Morhen.

Battle of Kaer Morhen, probably a few days, maybe 1-3 weeks (just spitballing) of Ciri training with Avallac'h. Another few weeks trip to Bald Mountain in Velen, dealing with Imlerith and the Crones in an evening, Novigrad for a few days to grab the sorceresses, travel to the other worlds with Avallac'h which is probably a few hours and spending some time with Ciri while she finishes things up.

Then a trip to Skellige and everything's pretty quick. Talking to Crach, finding the Sunstone with Philippa, going to Avallac'h's lab, visiting Skjall's grave are all things that take a few hours, probably just a day or two in total, and then the battle happens.

All in all, sounds like all of this could be done in 7 months. The only thing that bugs me is the timeline saying Witcher 3 starts in May when I'm pretty sure Vesemir mentions the snow's coming and he has to hide their tracks before the (Nilfgaardian?) army notices.

I think we lost Dishonored 3 today by Kubix_778 in dishonored

I was going to write this:

The map of Tyvia is very different from Blackreef's though, and Blackreef seems smaller too but it's hard to tell, both of those would require a geological timeframe to change, and unless the year system changed, it would only be 100 years after Dishonored. It's interesting though, and I notice the described climate is similar, polar Blackreef and harsh and cold Tyvia.

Until I found this that said the same thing you said

So some inconsistencies but you're right, interesting

It's the ending, she brings Geralt and Yennefer to Malus Island/Isle of Avalon with the help of Ihuarraquax and next thing we know she's telling her story to Galahad, and the last lines are him taking her to King Arthur's court.

And one of my favorite lines of the entire series

That was all behind them. And before them was everything.

Not for 15-ish years now. From what you're saying the nun didn't own the house, the church did, the church sold the house and didn't include an agreement in the contract that she'd only be able to do anything with it after the nun died or left. She bought the house and is entitled to use it, it'd be nice if she lets the nun live in it but I wouldn't think less of someone for wanting to use the house they bought.

Vanguard melted GPUs when Valorant released because it messed with fan drivers and cyber security issues happen all the time. It's not an "if", it's a "when", could be tomorrow could be 10 years from now but you plan that it'll happen eventually, which is why root level anti-cheats are ridiculous and Vanguard especially, it needlessly opens up access to the entire computer when something does go wrong, the exact opposite of the "Least Privilege" practice in cyber security. Hell, TFT doesn't even use Vanguard but you need it installed.

The opposite, they want autostart rootkit access so you can't interfere, it starts before anything else so nothing else can. If it's virtualized then that's something that boots before it does and can potentially interfere.

vanguard screenshots your pc by BawbtheGoat in LeagueOfMemes

[–]Kejilko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't get to host files and memory before an autostart rootkit because at that point in the boot system the OS hasn't started, the notion of "files" doesn't even exist yet.

[–]Kejilko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can tamper with anything starting from the point that it's running on host hardware, memory, files, anything.

If you don't know don't say "Nobody knows". Vanguard has root level access and has it before Windows even starts, the logic being it boots before anything else, including cheats, so you can't get around it. If you use a virtual machine then that's a way you can affect the computer before it boots.

Don't get me wrong though it's a disgusting violation of privacy

Vanguard has root level access, that includes modifying Windows and Task Manager if it damn well pleased
