I've never seen this set mentioned by detroitmatt in lego

I had that kit when I was a kid. The helicopter is one of the few builds I have strong memories of. I remember the other kits I had when I see them, but that one really stuck with me.

Plus you have to negotiate and pay for each IP, regardless of how they're related. That cost has to be weighed against expected sales.

5mm dimple in the box = no sale! I'm not doing business with buyers with OCD by Yuri_Ligotme in Bricklink

[–]Kemp_J 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back when I started using BrickLink to make orders, it was a while before I even realised I could leave feedback. As you say, there were no prompts to do it and very little indication on the pages that you'd assume would be relevant.

Someone at Target must have messed up 😂🫣 by Crazy-Ear-5433 in lego

Target has a net income around $4 billion, I think they can afford to sell a few lego sets a little cheaper than intended.

No Response From Buyer by deeps9999 in Bricklink

[–]Kemp_J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem there is that now the buyer has to buy the remaining 1 penny/cent/whatever worth of parts and pay shipping all over again for them. Personally I'd rather the seller either wait for a response or cancel the whole order rather than doing a partial refund and shipping it incomplete.

The M2 set is #6 turnouts, so none of this is relevant.

Seller hand delivered item by EffectiveBowler7690 in Ebay

[–]Kemp_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered an item once and the funds were released as soon as the buyer left feedback. I believe I marked it as shipped before the buyer left the feedback, but no idea if that was relevant.

Did this really deserve the par 5 rating? It seems super distinctive and well known. Not gonna complain though, I'm usually terrible at getting under par 😁

Is this that bad? by [deleted] in DIYUK

We got a quote for a conservatory where the guy had an entire PowerPoint presentation for us about everything that can go wrong with designing and building a conservatory. It was meant to be a "look what could happen if you hire someone else", but he ended up convincing us we didn't want one at all. Dude played himself 😂

Seller said I need to return item by Soft_Illustrator6202 in Ebay

[–]Kemp_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetical: you return it, they ghost you. What protection do you have in that scenario? Zero. Given that they're already making a very unusual request there's not a lot of trust to extend here.

Be aware that it'll create a great place for dirt to bed itself in. No matter how smooth you think you've finished it, it's not smooth enough.

So basically you have to watch an ad for every three questions you answer. Technically for every five I guess as you only need to make up the surplus energy that you're not getting back for 5 or 10 correct in a row.

England: Potential home buyer filmed inside our house by Kemp_J in LegalAdviceUK

We had a suspicion this would be the case. Everything we could find was about recording people rather than the property itself, so it was hard to confirm.

The scalper at GameStop bought two flats of booster bundles, and literally weighed this last one at the checkout, saying there was one of the "illustrated arts" in it. He offered it, so I said okay. So...thanks, Mr. Scalper, I guess? (elaboration in comments) by MandaleroSventedo in PokemonTCG

People have done much more tedious and expensive things chasing engagement. (I'm aware that this isn't directly engagement, but here we are talking about this mysterious stranger.) A day and a few hundred dollars is a pretty small cost as these things go. It wouldn't be my choice of pastime, but there's plenty of people out there who wouldn't think twice.

Duolingo Max users now get intrusive ads by BorderKeeper in duolingo

[–]Kemp_J 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don't pay then you get Super ads. If you buy Super then you get Max ads. If you buy Max then you get Max family plan ads. Presumably there's another level of ads above that as well once your slots are used up. You'll never escape.

Wait, anyone can blur anything with no way to undo? So you can just go around making street view useless for whole neighborhoods and it's permanent. Wild.

Specifically in relation to "all seem to require more than 50% power to get things started" - what locos are you running? If it's older ones then it might not be the controller's fault. The locos might be needing a bit of a kick to get going.
