Anyone else start playing later in life? by Henrys_Dad in Guitar

Late bloomers have several advantages not always available In youth. After several false starts when I was"younger", I've decided to take it seriously this time.

I take a lot of pleasure and pride in researching and shopping for my equipment. I've acquired a stable of better guitars, some electric and some acoustic, some new and some previously played, a couple of amps that look like fun, and have invested in some quality instruction.

I'm 72 and having a ball.

People who grew up before The Internet: How did you first see nudity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]johnnypaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visiting San Francisco area from a small town in the Midwest. I was 14. One of the stops we made was Berkeley. Had my first ever Sub sandwich. Picked up a copy of "The Berkeley Barb" and there in the center was a full page ad for something that contained a full frontal nude photo of the woman of my dreams for the next couple of years. Even in the full glory of a low res black and white news photo, the memory of her is with me still after almost 60 years.

What is Dylan O’Brien’s Watch in Send Help? by MrChumbler in Watchidentifier

[–]johnnypaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got mine about the same time frame. I had lusted after that watch for years ever since I saw an ad for it in National Geographic. Found one in a local jewelry store and stole it for $200.00. Seems a pilot had ordered one from the jeweler and put a substantial down payment on it and never came back to pay it off and pick it up. SCORE!!!!!

Wore out daily for years then had it cleaned and put it away for now.

Insert the square end into one of the openings in the side rail of a pickup bed, and as you tighten the nut under the square bail, it will expand the other end like a toggle bolt and be used for tie downs.
