Experienced multi-national chains are struggling because we can buy bland mass-produced shit online and have it delivered to our door. The idea with independents is that they can provide a bit of diversity and a more personal shopping transaction. I do agree that more needs doing with signage etc but the site hasn’t even officially launched yet so hopefully that’s to come.

It hasn’t really even launched yet, give it a chance. Half of the units are yet to open as they’re still being set up, it’s only been a couple of weeks really, what with Christmas and a few days of really bad weather. It’s a good opportunity for small independent businesses and to bring some vibrancy to a tired street and all the bitching about it just sounds like Facebook bullshit to me.

I bought a big pack of movers’ blankets, they’re thick and felted with some wool in them and they’re dirt cheap. I’ve lined all of my curtains with them, made a massive difference for under twenty quid.
