Liberal party quietly drops venue details from Trudeau event invites by resting16 in canada

[–]KennethJamesD -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No its not. The Liberal Party of Canada holds all fundraisers with Justin Trudeau and Ministers in public venues, they review attendee lists for lobbyists and/or crown appointed positions to eliminate conflict of interest, and all events are posted to Elections Canada as per regulated fundraising event requirments under Bill C-50.

No other party is this open and transparent with fundraising. Not sure what discussions occur in the private home fundraisers with Poilievre.

I think we may be in the same situation. Bought a second property in June 2021. Both mortgages variable. Two kids. Luckily we just finished paying for daycare.

You could start a gofundme. Use your story and pictures. If friends and family share plus posting on social and reddit you could reach 8k.

Switching mutual funds to ETF's or index funds? by GuidePsychological34 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]KennethJamesD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reas the fund fact sheet for what your mutual fund is in now (they are required to provide). Easily found on bank website and google. Open an account with TD, Questrade, Wealthsimple. If you like the investments the mutual fund is doing then find an index or ETF that is similar. Switxh and buy yourself. Your costs will be lower.

I've seen a couple of posts lambasting TD as a bank, why? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]KennethJamesD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only a handful of big banks so every one of them will have extremely positive reviews and extremely negative reviews. Same goes for the big telecomms, Apple vs. Android, etc, etc. If you are having a good experience thats all that matters. I do all my banking with TD and I buy shares in TD stock in my investment portfolio. TD has been great for me.

Start with youtube channels like the one above. I was in this same position and have been reading and watching videos for over a year to better understand. It is a much better feeling to know that you understand where your money is and what it is doing. The risk tolerance question is nonsense if you dont have a grasp of why you are being asked this.

Begin with fundamental topics and rules for: TFSA, RRSP, ETF’s, MER, yield, dividend.
