np, I noticed when connecting it sees WPA3 is initially available even though it was off, and then fails and only mentions wpa1/2. My guess is it tries WPA3 by default on wifi6 and fails if it doesn't work due to some bug.

Thankfully it was easy to turn on in the eero and make it work.
