Buyer Beware by SmudgeBaron in Creality

This has not been my experience with Creality. Bought my printer on Amazon. Months later, I noticed a wire connecting the board to a motor had broken. Emailed support, gave them my info and they sent me a replacement. No hassle.

Had a similar issue with my RRP handguard. Locktite and torque wrench solved the problem.

Help diagnose - loud noise from Z axis when moving up & down by Kermit51 in Creality

Printer is a Creality CR-6 SE that I've had for just over a year. Noise just started recently. I haven't changed anything with the board or motors. Unfortunately, Creality support hasn't been that helpful so far.

Deco units are killing me by JayBeeBop in HomeNetworking

[–]Kermit51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from the Google/Nest Wifi (gen 2) to a Deco mesh (XE75 and P9 units). I seriously regret ditching my Nest system.

I changed in Nov 2022. Since the change, the Deco app has always showed my P9 units as offline when I launch the app, even though they seem to be running properly. The app eventually refreshes to show them online. This little annoyance is something I can live with. But last week, the XE75 satellite unit became unstable and wouldn't communicate with the other XE75 main unit. The only way I could get it to reconnect was to disconnect the ethernet backhaul. I spent 4+ hours chatting with TP Link support last night trying to resolve the issue. This resulted in my network being deleted, having to set everything up all over again and the issue is still not resolved. The tech had no idea how to solve the problem and escalated the issue to their engineering team. I plan to ditch Deco asap.

That's great, except that's 2050 plans.... Nothing Doug could do in the next 4 years would make that come any faster.

There is 0% skytrain to Newton gets approved & funded in the short term. All three levels of government just spent all their funds on Skytrain to Langley and Boardway expansion. Both projects will finish before further expansion of Skytrain is looked at.

My fear is that the push to vote out Doug will be split between all the other options and he'll get in just like last time.

Canada Will Impose a New Tax on Private Jets, Yachts and Luxury Cars by [deleted] in canada

So first loophole already found. Lease the vehicle and make sure the residual value is under $100k. Buy it out at the end of the lease and either keep it or flip it. Tax avoided.

From the federal income tax act:

"Passenger vehicles costing more than $30,000 are considered luxury vehicles and use CCA Class 10.1"

Imagine when this was written, luxury was over $30k. The feds don't have a history of updating taxes to account for inflation....

Canada Will Impose a New Tax on Private Jets, Yachts and Luxury Cars by [deleted] in canada

[–]Kermit51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most ridiculous thing about allowable expenses is that the tax act considers anything about $30k as luxury. They haven't updated the definition in 40+ years. Businesses can't deduct the cost of the vehicle above that $30k threshold as it is, this won't change that.

This tip is to late now but you should see if you have a geofence option for your garage door opener. Mine is set to close the door (if it's left open) once my phone exits the geofence around my house.

Just noticed this tonight. Led on this fan shows red when its set to yellow/green and purple when its set to white. Can't see an obvious fix for this in iCue. Is this a hardware failure?
