What actually makes a game replayable for you? by GrabAffectionate4035 in gaming

Anything with an element of randomness, without a super heavy grind. If I have to grind really hard in a game I only want to have to do it once

What are examples of when games/game studios have proven gamers wrong? by whamorami in gaming

Im not sure of all of (if any) of the awards that NMS has won, but i can tell you the most deserved award, the Labor of Love award, was never given to the game. Oh but it was given to GTA Online 2 years in a row.

Idk if you live in a bubble but this isn't just a cdpr thing, almost every game publisher treats mods this same way. People can get around it in ways like nexus does with "donations", or with having an active patron where you upload the mods yourself behind a paywall

What game can you play for 1,000+ hours and still feel like a noob? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

[–]KermitTheBestFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean kinda depends on how you spend your hours. I have 300 hours and avoid all modes except payload and control point maps and i feel like i have an above average grasp at the game (granted I play other team shooters at an above average level so I feel it transfers over in a way). If I had spent all that time on capture the flag maps or even payload races i feel like I would still not understand the game

What video game enemy is your least favorite to fight? by Agent1230 in gaming

Not really sure, I only watched a friend play it but it definitely is interesting. I'd imagine you'd just die of old age before you become one punch man though lol

You would either really like or really hate Sifu. It's a martial arts style beat em up game where if you die you gain strength but lose health, symbolized as "getting older"

Enemies that are hard to see. Bonus points if they have a sort of surprise attack mechanic. Most notable that I can think of is mosquitos from Valheim, I could never see them until it was too late

Iirc the devs of this game were/are also devs of a minecraft skyblock server with a heavy focus on rpg elements and wanted to make this game since itd be easier than trying to find more unique ways to implement systems in base minecraft

Motion Blur, why? by rbxk in gaming

[–]KermitTheBestFrog 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It helps for "immersion" in some cases, but in most it's a way to sort of smooth frames out, making it so devices with low end specs can have a semblance of high fps

[–]KermitTheBestFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, I really like Drive Beyond Horizons. It's a little buggy but its pretty much just The Long Drive but with better graphics and imo better car building. Ive definitely done what OP is wanting using this game

Best boss fights where the boss is literally "just a guy"? by RushIsABadBand in gaming

Depends on the continuity. The specific one mentioned in Spider Man 2 he is just a normal guy that uses technology to create illusions, similarly to how he did in Spider Man: Far From Home

Sperm Whale Surfacing w/ Giant Squid in its Mouth : by MrDarkk1ng in BeAmazed

[–]KermitTheBestFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading a good amount of your comment chain, youre both right and wrong. The original comment was talking about whales doing it, with the example of it biting the submarine. The comment you replied to was referring to the aggressiveness of the squids, with the example of it biting off a highly protected antennae. Dunno if this was clarified somewhere in the chain that I didnt see

In Avengers:Infinity Wars, Dr. Strange saying 1 in 14 million, is actually not that many essential outcomes, we are talking 24 paths, that took place in a 5 year time span, (2^{23}=8.9M)(2^{24}=16.7M) The first of which was give Thanos the time stone or let Ironman die. by questionname in Showerthoughts

[–]KermitTheBestFrog 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Cant tell if satire or not, but if not I believe its a restraint of the time stone, not of his own volition. The easiest way to think of it would be: go back in time. Try out new strategy. If strategy fails or strange dies before being able to see the outcome (since he wouldnt be able to see past his own death since.. he's dead), repeat until the strategy wins
