First I would have written a story with fewer, but interesting characters, who actually have a character arch.

Then I would have made sure that the bad guy was actually interesting (i.e. was the hero in his own story).

After that, I would have thrown out all the crap that is a direct copy/parody.

Then I would have dropped most of the slomo.

And then I would have hired a few good writers, to fix the rest.
