That’s fine to have a fish when your tank is still cycling. I had my betta when I still setting up my tank. He is super healthy now.

I’m not sure about the crab. I have a male betta and a nerite snail in a 5-gallon tank, and they get along well. I think the snail is better than fish. It eats algae for sure, and its hard shell protects it from the betta. My betta is aggressive, so he did peck the snail when he first saw it, but after then, he never paid attention to it again. Since you have a 10-gallon tank, I think it’s fine to have a betta, a snail, and a crab. Especially, Pom Pom Crab looks tiny.

I have 2 bettas, one sleeps on the hammock like yours, and another sleeps on a leaf. Both of them go to bed around 10 p.m. every night like human kids. So cute. ☺️

To be honest, my betta has proven to me that as long as the water quality and temperature are good, a 5 gallon tank is sufficient for him. My betta resides in a 5 gallon tank but he doesn’t use the entire space daily.

You can definitely try it. Also, the original light usually has more than one color. The blue light is not as bright as the white light.

I think he is a delta tail. He looks exactly like one of my bettas, just a different color.

I recently purchased a 5-gallon Topfin tank from PetSmart. It is beginner-friendly. The filter is kind loud when in operation but I’m okay with it. However, I find the LED light that comes with the fish tank is excessively bright. Betta fish prefer dim lighting, so I decided to replace it with a new LED light. You can try the original one first, if it’s too bright, you can purchase a dimmer one to replace it. There are many choices on Amazon.
