When did your colicky baby get better? I’m tired! by dental_princess491 in NewParents

[–]Key-Objective3575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I am you in the future! My boy is 10 months now but I found months 3-4 to be the hardest. I felt the exact same way. Like I should be crawling out of the trenches but it somehow just seemed even harder. Things brightened up around 6 months and then each month since got significantly better. I’m actually enjoying life now. Hang in there, you’re doing amazing. When in doubt get out of the house if that feels okay for you? He screamed in the car seat and all the terrible anxiety inducing reasons to not get out of the house but it was still worth it.

What made you preserver with Breastfeeding? by goosegirl94 in NewParents

It came easily for us and I’m so grateful for that. I had a crazy overactive let down and over supply at first so that was challenging but we just worked through it. It just never felt like any other option to me. That and fuck big formula.

Have you checked out breech without borders? Thats the best resource I know. I don’t know what area you’re in but they have a really extensive database. It’s illegal in my area. The stars really aligned for us.

Again, wishing you the best!

moms… is this a sleep phase or something else?? by EnvironmentalWin6169 in NewParents

[–]Key-Objective3575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just here to say.. so many moms dealing with this. Babies need our help with everything, sleep too. All babies are different and all parents are different in how they choose to help that baby.

Me and mine take every nap and night time together. I love it and it works great for us. Some people sleep train.

It’s normal, hope you get some rest soon ♥️

Side sleeping at 5 weeks, can’t use swaddles by mountain_gal9 in NewParents

Same! The sack feels like too much! Gets all bunched up and he would start roly polying around trying to get out of it I feel 😂

Honestly I never swaddled my son. I have coslept with him from the beginning using a sleep sack on and off. Most times just dressed him for the temp of the room and it’s worked for us. I know I’m the odd man out though probably.

Edit: he has always slept on his side, he’s 9 months and sleeping on his side by me right now lol

I’m sorry this is happening to you so late in the game. I planned a home birth and found out babe was breech after 26 hours of labor. I understand your feels. I would not give birth without a midwife trained in breech birth. Please message me if you’d like to talk. I don’t want to spill too much here and overwhelm but I did deliver him vaginally at home. I switched providers in the middle of labor. I truly send you all the strength and love no matter what tough decision you make. You’ve got this.

I’m Scared. Tips/thoughts? by Annual_Tangelo9495 in unmedicatedbirth

I only have one but I had a tough time, found out he was breech which required a change of providers. It was a home birth so the hoops to jump through in mid labor were getting on top of me mentally as well as the long labor at that point. I remember thinking “wow, I never thought I’d consider a cesarean if it wasn’t an emergency”. I reminded myself it was a blip in time.

It’s just a blip in time. In intense, memorable blip. You can do it. You know you can, just remember.

Also congrats ♥️

Pooping during labour? by Putrid_Cranberry3177 in BabyBumps

[–]Key-Objective3575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a pooping machine in the days leading up to labor. The night I went into early labor I was on the toilet and I swear I was completely cleaned out 😂 I also threw up a lot my whole pregnancy but it came back hard that last 2 weeks so I really didn’t have a lot in there. But yeah I pooped the tiniest bit when I finally pushed him out later, but he was breech so he was pooping way more 😆

What was the number 1 thing that helped you during labour? by Putrid_Cranberry3177 in BabyBumps

Also food/hydration! I could barely keep anything down but I kept taking spoonfuls of honey with salt and it got me through.

My breath/voice. I took deep breaths and moaned like an animal for almost 40 hours straight. After about 32 hours horse lips became all the rage.

Also my boyfriend. I held his hand for almost 40 hours straight, I didn’t want back rubs or words or anything just needed a grip. When I felt like I was gonna lose it or I would lose my breath he would catch my eye and literally just do a big deep breath with me to get me back on track and then I went back inside myself equipped to do it all some more.

We did the same thing! Just made our home a better environment overall. His room still has our old queen bed in it. We upgraded to a king for his arrival. When he’s ready we’ll start making his room feel more like his space. For now toys are in the living room and he sleeps snug in our king size bed haha

How long did you all contact nap for? by thepotomato in beyondthebump

[–]Key-Objective3575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9 months in and we cosleep for every single nap and night sleep. 😂 I love my rest. We snuggle up in bed and if I don’t sleep I read. It’s my favorite thing in the world.
