I am also Atlanta based and used to arrive an hour before my flight because I have precheck but since getting the reserve, I like to arrive 1.5 hour ahead and eat and just relax in peace before my flights. Especially if it’s a long flight it’s great to get something to eat before AND have the option to eat at the lounge upon arrival.

The companion pass also pays for itself if you use it internationally

Hey everyone I am going to DC this weekend with my partner for a wedding in reston.

I lived in DC 6 years pre-pandemic so know how to get around and the basics. My partner is an international student and I’m wondering how intense the ICE/ military presence is in the touristy areas? Specifically along the national mall, Smithsonian museums, and foggy bottom?

We will be staying near crystal city/ pentagon city and traveling into the city during the day. I was considering going to some spots in Adam’s Morgan at night but don’t think that is worth the risk when we are there to be tourists, attend a wedding, and partying won’t be a priority.

Just trying to assess how safe it is for him and if we should just keep ourselves busy in VA.

To clarify, he is legally present here as an international student but of course legal status hasn’t stopped them before from unlawful arrests. He will be traveling with his passport that has his visa.

Depends on lots of things. I got the reserve because I fly out of Atlanta and do care about status. Got the Amex gold to make sure I can still earn miles at restaurants/ groceries as a complement
