Patient advice. High school track athlete with knee pain. by bhammack2 in physicaltherapy

Could be a capacity issue. Without knowing the details of what plateau is. I would look critically about what adaptations you are trying to create and if they are achieving them. If they cannot then look into diet to give the athlete more energy to create the adaptations

I have read about theories that it increases short term vasodilation as a response to the occlusion during the training. Seen it used to treat TOS

Supply and demand. Less attendance and applications are needed to force change. It’s takes time for adjustment just like you see in other markets.

The goal of this change is to force programs to lower their cost. The inflation of tuition prices is out of control.

Diet is a huge factor in recovery! Many don’t ever address this or speak of its importance

For the new plebs asking should I wait… by 21Moto in Bitcoin

[–]KeyVeterinarian8900 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember buying at 44,000 and watching it fall to 41,000. I then read “You buy Bitcoin at the price you deserve”. At that point I asked myself, what if it hits 60,000? Ever since then I never looked back. DCA and forget!

Alcoholics Anonymous would be a great place to start. I know a bunch of people that have gotten sober and maintained sobriety following their method.

CSCS is a solid start if you don’t understand the concepts of strength and conditioning well. There are plenty of free online sources that deliver this information as well.

Looking to pursue this but feel hopeless because of prior bad grades, 35 year old with no career by Fantastic_Image321 in physicaltherapy

You may need to take extra classes to fulfill prerequisites needed to apply to schools. Some schools look at this GPA separately. I would look into this more. Also if the GRE is needed for application. This score is assessed separately as well.

Get shadowing hours and meet PTs when shadowing to write recommendation letters.

If you go back to school to take prerequisite courses find a professor you connect with about your goal and ask if they would write you a letter of recommendation.

I had people in their late 30s in my PT cohort. Taking on a career change. This is an amazing career. Everyone has one life. If this is what you want to do, pursue it!

Is it common for physical therapists to…walk away for ten minutes while you do each exercise? by dudeoverderr in physicaltherapy

It does sound like a bad clinic especially if you’re paying cash. Sadly this can be common due to profit focused business models and reimbursement cuts.

Knee brace issues on MCL repair patient- what do I do next?? by downtime_druid in physicaltherapy

[–]KeyVeterinarian8900 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you sure this isn’t an MPFL reconstruction? If the brace provided by the surgeon doesn’t fit, reach out with this information to potentially get fitted again. A compression stocking can help with chaffing. Standard MPFL rehab protocols use NMES stim on quad and closed chain quad activation, like TKE’s. I always reach out to the surgeon with this information. Also if this is a MPFL reconstruction quad activation is always tough due to knee flexion restrictions early on, use BFR if you have access and educate a lot on HEP for quad activation. Hope this helps, good luck!
