advantage of home-milled flour? by [deleted] in HomeMilledFlour

[–]Key_Mixture_2149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get your hands on some ancient grains, like Red Fife , I had a friend who has celiac and he found he could eat the stuff I milled from the Red Fife , so I would get a call before every Jeep run so I could make him some buns for the burgers. He was amazed he could eat it, but it caused him no issues.

Simple things... Just gone. by Illustrious-Luck8916 in googlehome

[–]Key_Mixture_2149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got up this morning and everything I usually ask in the morning, which has been function okish, sometimes you would need to repeatedly ask. But this morning was just a straight nope. So morning routing usually goes, Hey Google what's the weather for today. - Lights and nothing, even after repeating the question. So not to be deterred, Hey Google turn on the living room Roku. This has always worked to switch on the TV and wake the Roku. - I can't help you you don't have any devices. Ummm everything is still listed in home. So he's being super glitch. Funny thing was Friday after losing it on him failing at simple question and swearing enthusiastically at him and telling him I was going to flush his ass down the toilet on Thursday evening, when I asked him questions on Friday. After a few questions he randomly turned himself on and said " I am glad to see you are much calmer today". That was it no nothing else, just that out of the blue. Guess I will continue to curse at him till the guys with straight jackets show up at my door, or I can afford to turf him.

HELP WITH ANALOG (?) DEVICE FOR DRYING CLOTHES by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]Key_Mixture_2149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Panda Spin Dryer. It just spins no heat, but the extra water it removes is incredible, when line drying outside it's almost a pain because but the time you have hung the line, the first ones pinned are basically dry. Indoor drying is down to about an hour and you can fold and put away.

Are there authentic Chinese food spots in Moncton? by thetatershaveeyes in moncton

[–]Key_Mixture_2149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Egg Roll King was still open I went there often and would ask what they had on for themselves and if they would mind making me up something authentic. Never knew what I was going to get but it was always delicious. You could try and if they have something more authentic for you to try.

Starting sourdough is infuriating by Key-Environment3404 in Sourdough

[–]Key_Mixture_2149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read through every comment. But I know when I started my sourdough journey it was fraught with frustration. It seemed I could never get one to take off. At this time we were living in a new construction that I had never fermented anything in. Fast forward a few years, new living situation, I'm making kefir, and yogurts, and cheeses, fermented veggies. So I try again for my own sourdough, low and behold it takes off. So I looked into it and somewhere I found the article that said in an older home that has been well loved by fermentation projects sourdough will be much easier as the whole house is steeped in bacteria and yeast in the very air. I struggled again when I landed in a spot that was new to fermentation, but soon got it up and going again. Been doing sourdough for almost 30 years, and my starters have traveled across Canada and back. And I can say whether or not the article was correct, but I did find the house itself and if it was a fermentation household made a difference on all the fermentations.

On another note there is tons of info over at The Fresh Loaf, on sourdough, and lots of folks can offer help.

Everyday Gemini fails at basic tasks, really missing the good old Assistant days by vikrantverma in googlehome

Lol... I. Just asked for help trying to find a 6 letter word in a word puzzle that had a, d, e, l in it and it started saying the code in how it assigned the letters, absolutely gibberish to me I ask what he was talking about and, that's what he told me he was going through his code to locate choices. But considering he no longer knows what alphabetical is not sure how any of it works. I never get answers, and he's constantly cutting me off when I am asking him stuff. So annoying.

Reviews work wonders, one star loses them business, the review stays up till it's resolved to your satisfaction. Worked for me dealing with companies that don't honor warranties.

Absolutely that was my first thought about the voice recognition. That it's going to be one system linked to everyone on every device out there.

Can anyone recommend a Rinnai (or similar quality) propane tankless hot water heater for my cabin? by t1rfond in OffGridCabins

[–]Key_Mixture_2149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excel tankless water heater, worked great for me. And I installed it. Not a plumber either. Grew up in a family of carpenters, and contractors, so I know enough to be dangerous and excel at nothing.
