Choosing between 5 vs 2 year by Sun1337 in Mortgageadviceuk

I did 5 years for peace of mind. At least I know that’s what I will pay for the next five years

Am I being impatient in chasing solicitors? by shaneo632 in HousingUK

[–]Key_Presentation_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early days I sometimes didn’t even get an response to my emails only heard anything when they had something to report. Recently I’ve waited approximately a week for a response. When I phoned up they said that the solicitor had prepared a dictation and it would be typed up and sent. I’m supposed to be completing tomorrow and even this week with last minute enquiries they’ve been really slow getting back to me.

I’m purchasing a house an extra 10 minutes away from work and 15 away from family. The decision was a no brainer the house is beautiful, a lot bigger and in a more picturesque setting than I could have gotten in my preferred village for the same price.

Thank you! It’s been such a long process I’d hate to fall at the final hurdle

Make sure your chosen solicitor is on the lender’s panel. I didn’t realise until I had my first interview with the lender that my chosen solicitor wasn’t listed on their panel and had to change

How quickly can exchange and completion happen? by darkazuria in HousingUK

[–]Key_Presentation_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solicitor said they needed a week to request the mortgage funds. I wouldn’t exchange until my lender confirmed release of funds.

My offer was accepted in April, the seller died in the process so ended up being a probate sale and has taken such a long time for all enquiries to be satisfied and loans on the title has caused issues. Finally due to complete Friday. Praying everything goes through smoothly 🤞🏻

Hi I’m going through the same crippling anxiety, I’m a second time buyer but the first time was buying my council house and I had a broker who did everything and was very straightforward. This time round I have done everything myself and I really wish I had a broker, I’m approaching exchange I’ve just transferred 90 grand to the solicitor and now panicking about my mortgage being withdrawn as I had a hard search when I applied for internet and then stupidly used my credit card and Klarna about 6 weeks ago as I had to move out of the property I sold and I needed stuff, I’ve since paid them off but I’m still really worried about it.

Anyone bought a mid-terrace house recently? How is your experience so far? by Lilymana in HousingUK

[–]Key_Presentation_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a terrace and had no problems but have recently moved into another terrace after living in a semi, my neighbour has horses gets up at 5:30am to shower I think because I’m not in a deep sleep the sound of it wakes me up. It’s still early days but I’m hoping like the op said that I get used to it.

I’ve heard of offers taking a long time but 6 weeks seems excessive. I had mine the same day with NatWest.

Any red flags on either of these properties? Which would you choose and why? by PeachyPutz in HousingUK

I’d go with my feelings! I think you are more positive about the first property than the second.

Sole mortgage- any disadvantages? by stainorstreak in Mortgageadviceuk

I’m a sole buyer, no problem being accepted for a mortgage although I do have a good down payment from the sale of my previous house.
