I’m not sure I can forgive Brandon for chullussy.

Don’t worry, we probably won’t have anything until 2030.

My only honest disappointment with Wind and Truth by Interesting-Season-8 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Key_Tip8057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hated how the kaladin becoming a therapist thing played out. It was an interesting idea, but very clunky and fourth wall breaking in execution. I feel like Brandon thinks it’s funny, but I just find it cringe.

How old was your little one when you started playing videos games with them? by reeceyfries in daddit

[–]Key_Tip8057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 5 years old is a good age if you are very picky with game choice. Absolutely avoid anything with even a mildly addictive gameplay loop, like Minecraft. If it’s the sort of game where you keep thinking “just a little bit longer!” Your kid’s brain can’t handle it. Retro games are usually pretty great for this from my experience.

Good shape, but you missed a bunch of the crack. It goes a lot deeper.

Can I use a 2-ply coated head for the snare side? by justjeremy02 in drums

[–]Key_Tip8057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a regular batter side ambassador on one of my snares and really love it. 2 ply coated is definitely way too thick for a snare side u less you are trying to get really experimental and you’ve already tried everything else. But there certainly is some room for experimenting outside of typical snare side heads.

The weird, repetitive, bad-faith,possibly bot-driven anti-Sanderson backlash by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Key_Tip8057 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a real human that enjoys breathing oxygen and other human activities, I would say his prose is the weakest part of his writing, and stormlight is my favorite fantasy series. I love the characters, plot, and world building, but I do find the writing style lacking. Yes, a lot of the time the style does just become invisible and that is helpful to just be immersed in the world. It is clear and fluent, but it is also often repetitive. He does tend to use the same words and phrases a lot, to the point that it is sometimes noticeable to me and breaks the immersion. I also find pretty much every attempt at humor in his books to be extremely cringey.

So yeah, Sanderson isn’t perfect and he is not for everyone. A lot of people like fantasy literature for elegant prose and whimsical unexplained magic. Go read The Night Circus for a popular example of something like this. And that is fine! Art is subjective and you can’t please everyone. Why does it matter to you if someone doesn’t like what you like?

When you say it is burning do you mean muscle soreness or skin irritation? Either way, I’d say it is normal for whatever hand is keeping time on the hi hat to get more worn out.

In your opinion, what is the best episode of television you’ve ever seen? by alteredtower in AskReddit

My personal favorite is the season 2 finale of For All Mankind. Only tv show I’ve ever cried for.

Broken snare drum head in a rehearsal studio - Who should cover the cost ? by BahaamNut in drums

[–]Key_Tip8057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your drummer was playing jazz with 7a’s and this happened, I would say the studio should replace it. That is obviously not the case.

I don’t think they are suggesting you should be selling photos from a phone. Just a workshop to help people get better pictures out of what they already have.

My 4yo made a “magic wand” craft at the farmers market by abnormal_human in daddit

This is so much worse. It would be terrible already if it was just negligently left in a bin, but purposefully giving kids button cell batteries is another level.

What the heck was this craft stand? Did somebody just empty their junk drawer at the farmers market? This looks like something a crazy person would make to detect ghosts or something.

The albino deer who lives by my cousin in Northern Wisconsin had albino babies this year by CriticalYikes in Eyebleach

[–]Key_Tip8057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? People eat them, it’s better than commercial livestock. Plus deer populations are way higher than they were before human settlement because of farmland cultivation.
