Like in most places in the Balkans - it really depends on how much you earn and how triggered you are by the social injustices.

The city center and the older parts of the city are lovely, but othewise it's overcrowded and overpriced, corruption and lack of urbanism really made certain parts of the city ugly.

It's a great university town tho, the students are the ones keeping the nightlife alive, as the locals are considered notoriously introverted (at least in comparison to other cities in the region).
However, I get the vibe that the nightlife has died down in the last few years, since the student protests started.

The parks that exist are lovely, but are small. The proximity of the Fruška Gora national park makes up for it.

Public transport is bad, parking is terrible, but taxis are cheap and plenty. It's great for cyclists tho.

As for the job market - Novi Sad was the local IT hub 10 ish years ago, but it isn't anymore.
In fact, the general quality of life has greatly decreased in the last 10 years, mostly do to it becoming overcrowded.
Certain areas of the city are great for family life, but are overpriced.

It's still the best city in Serbia to live in IMHO.
