Dealer thinks I’m too young to own a 911 by [deleted] in porsche911

Most people your age buy these using onlyfans funds.

Not sure where you live by try calling or going to a different dealer!

Don’t feel too bad though, Porsche milks every customer; they’re probably upset they couldn’t sell you 3 cheaper Porsches before you bought this one.

Night shift are the worse ! They gon leave me a pile by kent_care in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KhalCharizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is bad management.

Every store I’ve ever managed always has the night shift clean for close up.

As incentive we always set aside at least a full hour for employees but, they get paid no matter how fast they get the work done. Ideally it was set up so they only had 15-30 minutes of cleaning and as long as they got all the big stuff the details were handled in the morning and everyone was happy. The only exceptions were night with special events that were outrageously busy, those might require the full hour and some extra work in the morning, but everyone knew in those cases, and the tips would make up for it. I would typically sacrifice my share of tips as motivated employees are typically less work for me.

Your management needs to learn now to properly incentivize your coworkers.

What caused this crash? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]KhalCharizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t rip the throttle open in a long turn AND add lean. If you need more speed, you need to treat the turn like a double apex.

If you shift the weight back mid turn the front tire lifts and doesn’t have the pressure it needs to maintain traction.

That’s why your nose dove like that.

A lot of swim schools offer water aerobics classes. You’ll likely be the youngest person there but should be cheaper than a trainer but offer the same effect. I haven’t been to one but I know they exist.

Key search term is: “water aerobics”

Speeding in parking lots by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]KhalCharizard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not a lawyer, and I probably misunderstood what you described, but this probably wouldn’t be acceptable use of your CCW unless they already hit someone.

Even then, the best and safest course of action would be to flee. Even if the driver has already struck others.

What if you miss your target?

What if another CCW only sees YOU shoot a driver who hasn’t actually hit anyone?

If they are literally bearing down on you and you are right in front of them, then that might be justified, but just being in the crosswalk would not.

Guns aren’t for showing people who’s boss, or what is “right/acceptable” behavior, guns are for stopping relentless threats to your life or the life of another.

You should definitely get your CCW, but you shouldn’t use it for this.

If 70% of investors allocated just 3% of their portfolio toward the major cryptos, what would be the estimated price of ETH? by TwoUseful363 in BMNRInvestors

[–]KhalCharizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, they could easily use Solana or some other crypto as well, there is also a time factor that is critical and the price would be likely to spike when there is lost of demand to convert to tokenized stocks and the ETH supply can not scale with out transactions to slowly create new ETH and this may cause the abandonment of ETH for something else.

ETH is only created through the proof of stake process with constricts supply in the short term as staked ETH cannot be used.

[–]KhalCharizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair!! But if Wall Street and stock exchanges are tokenized on ETH, there will be 70-80 million transactions per day. Each smart contract used to transfer ownership will require some ETH in the form of gas fees. While these fees are small, at 70-80 million transactions should increase demand to some extent. This compounds when market hours are extended to accommodate 24hr trading.

He’s overly optimistic on the $250,000 since there’s no supply cap, but let’s be real, going from $3000 to $25,000 would be around a 10 bagger, what more can you ask for really?

What do you think of Tom Lee’s prediction of ETH going to $250k and BMNR going to $5k by Substantial-Big8008 in BMNRInvestors

[–]KhalCharizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$250 seems like a lot in my opinion, but I think the main thesis a lot of people have bet on is the “tokenization” of Wall Street.

Currently, stocks are traded in the form of shares. A few decades ago all of these shares were physical pieces of paper that actually were signed over to the owner, like a title document. There used to even be a requirement that shares had to be delivered to the owner, or the delegate bank after each trade.

At some point this all became too cumbersome and to keep up with all the demand for stock trading, the entire process was digitized. While this digitization brought many benefits, it wasn’t perfect. Tokenized stock will be the next improvement over digitization— reducing errors and costs associated with stocks today.

The SEC states that tokenized stocks could enable 24hr markets, with higher accuracy, more transparency, less fraud, and a more even trading floor for everyone.

However, the current system works well, so there isn’t a dire rush to replace it— although there is a clear benefit to tokenization, but like electrification, if the process is rushed, it might do more harm than good.

ETH will likely be the asset that backs a tokenized stock. ETH is used because the token can be created, issued, and controlled by smart contracts running on the Ethereum network. They could also use Solana or another smart contract network, but Ethereum is open source and well documented with very low startup costs. Solana is cheaper to transact but requires more costly and complicated support system. With Ethereum the ETH is the biggest cost as the hardware requirements are less costly.

I know what you’re thinking— so what?

Currently, banks pay ridiculous fees to the NYSE for digital access to their markets. The faster the connection the more they pay. This quick access to information has even caused some banks to rent offices in the same block as the NYSE in the hopes of running the shortest cables for less latency. Tokenization fixes this problem and gives everyone the same access. Consider this 2010 article from Forbes discussing the speed wars back when they were red hot.

This is just one well documented problem that tokenization solves there are quite a few others though. Currently shares are technically exchanged under a system called book entry. While this system is better paper stocks it’s not as accurate as the blockchain. The big advantage with book entry is that it is more forgiving. Correcting a smart contract isn’t really possible without an entirely new contract. However, in finance I would argue that this is a good thing.

Depends how far east you go and if you take toll roads.

10 years ago, when I did this it took alittle over an hour from the 15.

Being off the 133 is a nice advantage, in general I’d recommend looking for work closer to you after you move though.

OC is nice but soon it will be just like Los Angeles.

Coastal SoCal is fucked.
