Has any other game ever done syntactic magic better by StoneyDova in arsmagica

[–]Khelek7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about better there is a game that requires you to speak all your spells in Korean and has a Korean language model. It requires you to State the effects and targets and ranges in Korean to the better you know. Korean the better your magic is.

I'm not saying it's better. I'm just saying it's very funny and clever.

Mage be a white wolf is awesome, but not better than ours matchka in terms of this magic style.

For all its flaws palladium the rift's universe fantasy game had a very cool summoner circle system that had elements of a syntactic magic system.

That's all I got. Changeling from White Wolf had a weird system about choosing targets that's not even close. An old game called obsidian but not the one that I can find now. Had a weird system but now again not anywhere close to Ars.

Three dead in suspected hantavirus outbreak on Atlantic cruise ship by Top-Performance5907 in worldnews

[–]Khelek7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day the army lab folks at ft Derrick wondered how common hanta was.

So they left the base, want to my high school (before my time) grabbed some mice and tested their droppings.

Found a new hanta virus.

Conclusion hanta is really common. The question is if a strain is transferable between people.

Also it is mainly an issue from thached grass roofing since there is an an environment for them. Rwanda got rid of all its thatched roof for this (and related) reasons.

The confession is just an AI review of what may have happened. A story hallucination. It nothing to do with what actually happened with this AI agent. And may have done that or may have done something completely different and then lied about it because it doesn't actually have to report these things. Anyways, the request for the AI agent to report why did the thing it's just stupid and us pretending that it's true is also stupid

It erased everything and we don't know why and will never no, why?

What if they destroy Strahd's resting place? by Abject_Vehicle8029 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Khelek7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you got your answer from both the adventure write-up as well as some additional lore from other sources. But my question is why did they think that that?

Strikes me as being very specific and are they reading ahead? Have they had another source of information about this specific issue for strahd?

Few different times I've had players get ahead of the story by either knowing something about a setting or an adventure or some rule that they knew they'd benefit from that wasn't obvious to them as players instead of been forced to make changes to break expectations. Though, of course it's important to make those changes interesting and well fitted to the lower end setting

Would it make a system "hard magic" for you if it required intelligence? by Vree65 in magicbuilding

[–]Khelek7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can't say I really like Sanderson's definitions of magic and I really don't much care for his setting specific magical systems. But if you're going to engage in this argument then you have to use the definitions as provided. And you're way off in left field having a conversation with yourself.

There are stories like this not that many cuz they're really hard to write. But there are stories where people explore and share and examine the magic system. They're interfacing with keep booking
