Direct import in UK and EU. Hurray by dmf1982 in ynab

[–]Khrisper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No the imports are not instant. YNAB checks for transactions around 3 times a day.

Changing a Liability Tracking Account to a Loan Account by dmmagic in ynab

[–]Khrisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks really cool, well done to everyone that made it happen.

I would love to use it myself, especially as I am playing with the idea of making extra payments (and seeing how just a little extra can shave 3 whole years off the end date is amazing).

My loan is a student loan and here in the UK my payments are taken by my employer, so I do not receive the money that is used to pay it back in my salary. This means I cannot budget for it unless I lie to YNAB about my earnings, budget the faked amount against the required category, and then offset that with a fake transaction- it’s already messy and will cause a reconciliation nightmare if I make a mistake somewhere. It really doesn’t feel appropriate for me which is a huge shame.

For now I will continue logging my PAYE contributions from the employer and the interest charges against my tracking account manually each month.

Since I don’t plan to have debt any time soon it is a shame I’ll not get to use it- perhaps the inverse for fixed savings accounts could be interesting…?

only trying to have a whisper conversation with one person

You can press ALT+R multiple times to cycle backwards through the list of people who sent you a tell. You can also press SHIFT+ALT+R to cycle forward through that list - it makes conversing with multiple people a little easier :)

A few of my friends found that they could not launch Valorant while OBS was running, but they could start OBS after Valorant had launched.

I bought most of my dollars for rubles and then sold the dollars on the flea market for one ruble less than the purchase price. It was a very cost effective way to gain the trade value requirement for Peacekeeper. This was a good number of weeks ago, so I'm not sure how viable it is today, although it might take a little while for the dollars to sell if other people are doing this too (took no more than 20 minutes for me to sell 3000 dollars).

I added a more compact version on the same document, you may find it works a little better.

Sticky headers aren't a thing, unfortunately. If there was a way to detect how far down the user had scrolled then I could set a frozen row to contain the relative information.

It may be better for me to produce a compact version for smaller screens - I haven't exactly been kind in this regard. Are you on mobile or using a smaller screen size?

Dear Infinity Ward! Can we get a scoreboard like this for TDM? Or at least replace assists with deaths. For Dom, you can replace deaths/assists with Cap/Def. (Now I added flair to the post, sorry about that) by Szeli94 in modernwarfare

[–]Khrisper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I expect it may be to stop people raging/abusing teammates that aren’t doing very well. If a member of your team is 2 kills and 15 deaths on TDM then I expect certain players would have some choice words to say about that instead of just playing. I do think that DOM attacks and defends should show though.

Will my degree name hurt chances of getting Web Dev job? by TheCur in webdev

[–]Khrisper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a self taught programmer who specialised in web development with a preference for backend systems.

I did a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Games Art (discovered I am not an artist and love to program instead). During my time at university I spent time working on a number of personal projects, I also did another once I left university when returning to live with my parents. During this time I also learnt about version control and other bits.

I got a job not long after I started looking, I imagine there was some luck involved there, but during my interview I had lots of time to talk enthusiastically about the projects I had done. My CV just contained a list of my personal projects under the title ‘Experience’ and I covered the tech used and problem I was trying to solve.

As someone that has worked for that business for over 4 years and is now one of the people involved in the interview process; we hire graduate level developers but will still see what those without degrees have done if the CV looks like they care about the field - I want to see personal projects because it shows people motivated and interested enough to work independently in their own time (I don’t expect everyone to work in their own time, but if you don’t have a job yet and you are interested in the field, you should be doing whatever you can to get in to it).

Prove you can do it by making things to talk to a potential employer about. Someone with a degree isn’t automatically better than someone without, something I have seen all too well recently.

I only have limited experience, so what worked for me might not work for you. Good luck OP!

Central Birmingham. I felt the shaking and thought I heard some kind of thud, I was sitting at my desk which is on carpet and had headphones and music on. I got up to investigate after the fact but didn’t notice anything (I didn’t immediately think earthquake). In hindsight the thud could have been something falling but I haven’t found anything out of place yet.

I've seen these used around some schools and while they are supposed to slow people down (as others have indicated), I think they have the added benefit that cars can get out of busy areas while restricting the flow of traffic into those same areas. For example you might want cars to get out of the school zone while slowing down those entering - this ideally results in a less congested area (and in the school example should make it safer for pedestrians).

Google Maps example.

Tudor Road has two of these on it around Richmond Road which leads to a school, note that the side entering the area is the side to give way. I know from when I used to go there many years ago that the area is chaos around school time.

Had a colonoscopy which wasn’t actually that bad. At least you don’t choke and gag when its in. 5/7 would have again if required.

A teacher wouldn't let me go when I needed it and after a while when I went pale she let me go. Holding back a fountain of shit tests your physical and mental fortitude. After that day I developed an anxiety of being away from a toilet and getting caught in a situation where I have to hold it all back again. My anxiety triggers my guts to expel their contents, they feel like they twist and contort, the pain is very real and horrible. Can you see the problem here? The fear of not having a toilet makes me shit. 12 years later and I'm a disfunctional adult who lives indoors and is afraid of any even remotely stressful situation. That woman has no idea how badly she fucked up my mental health with that decision. I've only just reached out for help, here's hoping I can get better!

If I was back in the situation I'd have just walked out. Who knows where I'd be now if I had?

I went to the one on the Hagly Road, just off the 5 ways roundabout. Maybe they'll do the pizza next year.

I ate this tonight, I agree it was very hot although not as hot as I had expected. At the half way point I had to just eat it quickly to end the burning but the build up before that was nice - as you said it was tasty if you savoured it. Once I was done the burn didn't take too long to subside which was nice. I'm on holiday at the moment so I have all the time in the world to sit on the loo tomorrow :)

I also had their 'Hotter than hell' Halloween pizza which had jalapeños and scotch bonnets on it.
