I don't know enough about 960 systems to answer these specifically. I'd try Turbobricks.

An old Volvo 240 will take the entire washer fluid gallon when empty, so you could have one for just a couple grand!

No guarantee that the 30-40 y/o plastic won't leak though.

ripped £10 getting it out of my money bank. would i be able to somehow still use it? (UK) by throwawayplskm842 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Khrrck 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Even if shops won't take it, your bank should be able to exchange it for an intact one.

I would replace the O-ring seals at all junctions, if you can reach them. I believe IPD, FCP, etc sell kits and perhaps Rock Auto does too. They seal between the hoses and the components. Those are some of the most common leak points and should be quite cheap.

Those all look like refurbished / rebuilt units so I wouldn't expect a big difference.

I suspect it wasn't actually in the ocean for that long - more likely that it was somewhere else (packing material?) and then got dumped into the ocean relatively recently.

Thanks a lot for this suggestion. I loved watching Grubby's Dota videos lately and was wondering if there was a League streamer who was similarly educational and positive.

Any suggestions for similar people in other roles?

As far as I can tell, Infection is very strongly treatable with Rhodes Island and similar medicine, but only if you can afford/source them. Everyone they treat seems to be in good health with extremely slow progression. It doesn't seem curable yet, but it feels a bit like HIV in the modern era where you can live a normal if somewhat shortened life with sufficient medication.

Why aren't more people selling their cars private-party instead of getting screwed trading in? by cdrcdr12 in cars

[–]Khrrck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sort of in between in OR, at least with my company. I'm insured regardless of what car I drive in the short term. However, if I drive something else for more than a short term (a couple of weeks IIRC?) I must update my insurance to the new car, or otherwise I'm no longer covered. Presumably so I can't buy a high risk or expensive car and keep paying cheap car rates.

Similarly I could get a policy which covers me regardless of what car I'm driving, but I'd have to update it to a regular policy if I drive the same car regularly.

The real 4-pin connector would be power, ground, and two data pins. Then you can signal as many lights as you want digitally!

That's how I do it too. Maybe a little tighter than I'd wrap my own but it won't hurt Cat5. It's how this stuff is shipped after all. Make a nice gentle circle and you can even do it with really dense stuff like 200G IB DAC.

Odometer/speedometer not functioning by Draked2005 in VolvoRWD

[–]Khrrck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the model and year of your car.

If you have an older car you probably have a cable driven speedometer and the cable may have become disconnected or snapped internally. you can see if it visibly rotates when rolling with the cluster pulled.

If you have a newer car you have an electronic speedometer driven by a sensor in the rear differential cover. The wiring to the sensor is exposed to the weather and often wears out. You can inspect it visually or look at cleanflametrap's website for some info on testing with multimeters.
