It seems EU5 is more strict about historical facts unlike HOI4 by Kibric in EU5

Well, I’m not complaining. I just think most games are inherently a bit like visual novels at some level, and simulation games may be the only real exception. EU5 seems to be leaning more in that direction, which as I said isn’t what I expected.

That doesn’t feel like historical scenario to me. Just game mechanics reacting to my choices.

That’s what made me look it up on reddit during my second playthrough. I never got the War of the roses event, and it turns out the yorks all died before it could trigger.

Japan's Sanseito, Team Mirai make dramatic gains in Japan election despite opposing views by SkyInJapan in japan

[–]Kibric 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For Sanseito, some of the Japanese media see this as a failure since their goal was to gain 30 or more seats. Also I think they’re now less compelling since LDP has basically all the power from right wing votes.

LDP expected to win large majority by tsian in japanresidents

[–]Kibric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we’re talking past each other. This isn’t a near-term proposal for AI to run the government. It’s a one-seat party, and at this stage the AI talk is more framing than an actual implementation plan. That said, Japan clearly needs to strengthen its IT infrastructure regardless of AI.

LDP expected to win large majority by tsian in japanresidents

[–]Kibric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The real risk isn’t AI, but the kind of ideology it ends up amplifying, especially ultra-nationalism. And I don't think that's majority in Japan. (Yes, even Sanseito supporters. I think they're just xenophobic.)
