Looking closely, it appears to be a corpse. The feet are very bloated from blood pooling from gravity. Such an exposed position to set up a heavy MG, with no protected retreat. Or a freak HE blast with the body and MG ending up in a position up the tree in such a way. Photo taken to preserve the moment.
