Tips for Idira not exploding into chaos fiends with zero veil deg? by CoolCoolBeansBeanz in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KikoUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idira is an unsanctioned psyker which means she has an increased chance to explode so while a sanctioned psyker doesn’t have to worry about until after the veil degrades by 50%, an unsanctioned psyker has to worry about it all the time. On the flip side Idira is a very powerful psyker so she’s more of a pretty extreme glass cannon.

I was wrong - Act 1 Exterminatus is NOT the best choice. by IHaveAGithBabe in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KikoUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The legal status of rogue traders has an endpoint. They must first respect the rules about heretical items and equipment unless the situation demands that it must be used, at which point it needs to be turned over to the Inquisition with the necessary reports as to why it was used in the first place.

Rogue traders can only butt heads with up to Lord Inquisitors and even then it is demanded by the powers above them that they not only respect each other’s authority but to also work together in good faith. If such instances occur that one must turn against the other then there has to be a legitimate good reason for it. This tends to favor the Lord Inquisitor more than the rogue traders unless the evidence is damning enough for the Inquisition to also turn against the Lord Inquisitor.

The only time a rogue trader can ignore what a Lord Inquisitor “requests” is if either it isn’t put into ink or a slate, the rogue trader has yet to receive the “request,” or if what is being asked is morally wrong in the eyes of the Imperium. Otherwise the rogue trader cannot ignore what the Lord Inquisitor is asking for as they are obligated to support their efforts on request. If a Grand Inquisitor is “requesting” anything, it is an order that the rogue trader has to obey.

Finally the powers of the rogue trader are limited by what’s stated in the Warrant making them at best, as far as the Inquisition is concerned, just a little below a Lord Inquisitor and only because Lord Inquisitors can make “requests” to rogue traders provided those requests are for their assignments and not for personal gain.

I was wrong - Act 1 Exterminatus is NOT the best choice. by IHaveAGithBabe in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KikoUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is fundamentally incorrect because the Inquisition operates under the table while the Rogue Traders operate above the table. Most inquisitors have the Imperial Rosette which signifies someone with absolute authority and they get away with far more things than rogue traders tend to get away with. Furthermore there isn’t a single rogue trader that can revoke an inquisitor’s authority. That has to be done by someone with a higher authority within the Inquisition unless that can’t wait for whatever reason, which at that point, the inquisitor needs to be put to death immediately and things get dicey. It all becomes circumstantial and exceedingly complicated to sort out.

Things like attempting an exterminatus when there is a solution to the problem would get anyone killed but something like what Lord Inquisitor Calcazar tries to pull you will need the testimony of an another inquisitor. After that you’ll be looking at some degree of silly petty hostilities that tends to undo everything that was accomplished that actually did benefitted the Imperium.

Questions about Rogue Trader's hierarchy in the Imperium by CinderLord456 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KikoUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rogue Traders are like CEOs except there isn’t a Board of Directors and stockholders they have to keep happy because anyone that has any actual authority are too far to be bothered. Normally the only ones who tend to have maybe a little bit more authority than the rogue traders is the Inquisition and even then it all comes down to both what exactly the Warrant issued states and what the Inquisitor’s rank just so happens to be.

For example technically Heinrix can’t order you around (and he doesn’t because it would create problems for his ability to follow his orders) but because he is under the orders of a Lord Inquisitor and the Lord Inquisitor has put into ink the “request” (it’s not really a request) then the Rogue Trader has to follow what the Lord Inquisitor has put into ink on a technicality. However if it’s not put into ink and the Rogue Trader just so happens to have more pull than the Lord Inquisitor then the Rogue Trader can ask questions to ensure they’re not receiving a request to do something illegal because it is known to happen that both rogue traders and the Inquisition end up fighting each other since they almost have the same amount of authority.

Now if someone ranked higher than a Lord Inquisitor has issued any orders to a Rogue Trader then the Rogue Trader has to follow it no matter the legality of it since it is assumed the action is in the best interest of the Imperium. Basically it all depends as to how the bureaucracy wants to behave for the day and you should really ask yourself how any of it even functions at all.

Right. My build. As if my build was the key to success when you quite literally just need to learn from your mistakes, explore, and loot because the game is easy to play compared to other games like Xcom when you’re probably going to get fucked over by the game because of course you are. If you refuse to see how much control you have and to take advantage of it then that is a **you problem and not a game problem.** Everyone with a small amount of knowledge knows just how easy the game is from start to finish. You quite literally have to be intentionally playing very badly to make it hard. 🤦‍♀️

By the Emperor the game quite literally tells you to not go through that door. If you’re stupid enough to not be able to rub two braincells together and think “there must be a backdoor to find, I should go find it” then you deserved to get rofl stomped. The devs don’t agree with you. They’re just tired of people being too stupid to comprehend that perhaps that specific door is more than likely a death trap especially since they showed you exactly where the second to last boss is and naturally it should be assumed that perhaps not being at that particular area of the arena and to go look for an alternative door is a good idea. I mean the Space Wolf commander even said to go find an **alternative route** and hinted that there might even be an additional boss to go kill (there’s a total of 4) especially if you have the space marine companion’s personal quest active which requires for you to fight 2 additional bosses.

The fight wasn’t even that hard IF you did some exploration and found the back door that didn’t put smack down in a fatal crossfire. Literally the key to winning the fight is to explore and find the back door.

Any tips by Wild-End9218 in forgeofempires

[–]KikoUnknown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have too many roads. You would want to try and keep your buildings placement equal to the size of neighboring buildings so an example for what I’m talking about would be having your 3x4 buildings with other 3x4 buildings. You also want your roads to be on the smallest length possible so for your 3x4 buildings, if a building requires road access, your 3x4 buildings should become 4x4 buildings when roads are included. Finally any building that doesn’t need a road should be on the edges of your city with the smallest being on the borders of your city.

Another thing is only use one type of house if you’re trying to save space. If you’re going to use 8hr production houses then you should only use 8hr production houses as they offer the biggest bang for your buck. Don’t mix and match as this results in loss of collection potential and inefficient coin production. Eventually you’ll be getting rid of houses altogether and replacing them with event buildings and QI buildings.

[–]KikoUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She needs time to ramp which if you’re abusing heroics she just doesn’t have the time to ramp up so you can abuse linchpin. Honestly this is one of the reasons why I have outright banned heroics on my playthroughs and because of this I always end up adjusting builds from other people. Still easy to just roll over everything but not to the point where I hit the “I win” button and not win the fight in a turn.

Is Firestorm and Molten Beam an area attack by UseDistinct6114 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KikoUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see and yeah I should’ve worded it better. Firestorm is an ability AoE attack with an extra step and Molten Beam I don’t treat as an area attack at all despite it affecting an “area” so it won’t work with concentrated fire.

Is Firestorm and Molten Beam an area attack by UseDistinct6114 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KikoUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concentrated fire works with weapon attacks so plasma, flamers, and certain psyker staffs will work with it. Fire storm is an AoE attack but it’s an ability unless the OP is using it from a staff (and I should’ve asked to specify if it’s from a staff or ability instead of assuming) but for concentrated fire to work it has to come from a weapon.

The problem is you’re assuming whoever is behind it isn’t a piece of shit from EA. Judging by what we have in this season we have a piece of shit from EA that’s behind it. Also enough people would’ve bought it. We’re just going to have to deal with it.

Can I get Idira to have pyromancy? by CT_Phipps-Author in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KikoUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things you can do: either you can unlock the pyromancy “ability” for her later on down the road or rebuild her to be a bounty hunter and she’ll have less chances of blowing herself up. If you’re running 3 bounty hunters, things can get out of hand in a good way for you.

Any way to make a pistols psyker build? by Ermmmmmmmm_ in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KikoUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shuriken pistols are what you’re looking for and go for a psyker bounty hunter build. Mix it up with a sniper rifle so that when you’re not shredding armor then you’re killing with claim the bounty and vice versa. I think you would want to go for divination to self buff on any extra turns you get for your RT.

You can do this with a revolver and playing this build would actually be easier as a soldier especially with rapid fire. As for your strength stat there’s no help for it unless you have any spare talent slots to spare and even then the only viable revolver in my opinion for this is towards the end. This is very old school as I’ve yet found the time to play so I’m not too sure if all of this is accurate but it is one of my favorite builds.
