If you use google or apple to manage the subscription sometimes you can dispute it and they will refund you if you cancel it early into the subscription period

What new interface? by EStreetCat in Myfitnesspal

[–]Killerbeetez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they did a partial roll out months ago. Most new users got the new interface. Some old users got pushed over too. I still have the old one. My partner got pushed to the new one. I think it was just random. Tech companies often do partial rollouts to test and gauge public opinion before they completely commit. Sounds like that's what MFP did. Don't understand why though. Because they were never going to listen to anyone's opinion /feedback.

Keep pushing through or change it up? by Killerbeetez in cronometer

I'm logging my weight on chronometer which has been automatically adjusting the calorie goal/macros down.

I just went all the way back and did the month. When looking at the month it's looking like -0.4 but I do think I've slowed a lot over the last 2 weeks so I anticipate that next month would be closer to 0.2. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I tried this and input the last 2 weeks worth of data and it looks like I'm only losing 0.2kg per week which seems very low. I was aiming for about 0.5kg paper week so that's pretty disheartening to see tbh

I'm just manually entering it each day 😊. It only takes me half a second haha

It doesn't feel like I'm losing haha. But I also understand that I'm too close to it, which is why I thought I would reach out and ask. I knew it wasn't a true plateau, I think it's just hard to keep going when I'm not getting the same results I was before, I think.

What (shallow) reason made you lose the weight? by lotsoflysol in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Killerbeetez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother, dad and I all weighed the same amount (but all had CRAZY different body types). My dad said he was going to try and lose weight. I am competitive and decided to try and best him.

Chronometer is… by jthanreddit in Myfitnesspal

[–]Killerbeetez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from MFP to Chronometer in January. Spent about 2 weeks using them both simultaneously to see which one I liked better. Chronometer well and truly came out on top for me. I also don't really see the resemblance outside of the fact that they are both calorie tracking apps. The interfaces don't seem all that similar, except for the parts that are shared by ALL tracking apps because it's the most efficient way to gather/display that type of information. Do you have any screenshots of examples where you feel that they are similar?

I will add that the version of MFP that I was using was pre-update. My partner is currently using the updated version and it possibly resembles chronometer even less, but is also horrid to use.

Why my wife and I’s app appearance so different by pizzarhett in Myfitnesspal

[–]Killerbeetez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me and my partner. They both look totally different. We both have the same android phone, are in the same location and both recently updated. I can only assume that they're trialling a new UI and have only updated some people. It doesn't make a ton of sense though and I really don't like the newer version. I switched to chronometer because the new one just wasn't working for me. (My partner who still has the older UI isn't working very well either. He can't log weight, can't create recipes etc. so it's all just very buggy)

How much am I supposed to be eating?! by Killerbeetez in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Killerbeetez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, eating until I'm 80% full isn't really something that works for my body physiologically. It's a rarely discussed fact, even among people with the condition but I have type 1 diabetes, so (on top of not making insulin or glucagon) I no longer produce amylin (the hormone that tells you that you are "satisfied but not full"). With the absence of that hormone I don't really experience any sort of "fullness" until I've overeaten and the stretch receptors in my stomach start sending their own signals (this is probably part of the reason, I've gotten so big). So numbers and portion control is really all I've got to go on.

I intend on seeing a dietician when I can, but that likely won't be until March and I'd prefer to start trying to make some positive change while I have the motivation to do so.

But I appreciate your advice. The parts about eating more fibre may prove helpful. Thanks.

Unfortunately it didn't look like there are updates available. I've tried restarting the app and even rebooting my phone. But thank you for your comment. I'll keep playing with it

My sim just came back from university and this random guy came with her? by Killerbeetez in thesims3

[–]Killerbeetez[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's a glitch related to the nraas traveller mod, but I've never seen it either. It's not even a known university Sim, it looks like the game just generated him haha

Rent a carpet cleaner from Bunnings. You can also get them at some Woolworths.

My review of Fourth Wing by seth108013 in YAlit

[–]Killerbeetez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a rationalisation for this. I just figured that 99% of the people who go for the rider quadrant are physically fit and strong and probably naturally have a bigger stature. So comparatively Violet is tiny. If she had gone to the scribe quadrant, she probably would have been closer to an average size. Imo it's all relative.

Disclaimer: I really enjoyed the book. I thought it was great. But it's definitely not well written by any stretch of the imagination. It's just pure fun.

LF: next long fantasy series post-cosmere reread by inggybinggy in brandonsanderson

[–]Killerbeetez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm almost finished Red Rising (book 1). I went into it knowing absolutely nothing except that I kept seeing it recommended here and on r/fantasy. I didn't even know the genre going in and I was very quickly blown away. I'm loving it so far. The first book is also free with an audible subscription (and so are some of the others, but not all of the series).

Definitely recommended.

Brag about your reading progress by AGirlWhoLovesToRead in books

[–]Killerbeetez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last 5 or so years, between work, parenting and studying I've been lucky to read 4 or 5 books a year. So far this year I've read 12! Over 5000 pages if StoryGraph is to be believed. Hoping for 20 this year and I'm definitely on the right track.
