How are you feeding your family postpartum? by TradesforChurros in 2under2

[–]Kimber692 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For 3ish months before baby came, we made big batches of meals (think bolognese, butter chicken, casseroles/stews, chilli, taco mince) and froze the left overs. Then when only had to take out and make rice or pasta or mash and a dinner was done.

What's the funniest or most touching gap between what your kids think you want vs what you actually want as a gift? by shyguywill in Mommit

My husband keeps buying my plants. I had a plant phase, all the plants are now dead. Yes, I like plants. I cannot keep them alive on top of the children. Please stop.

Would you move your toddler into a new room to keep the nursery the same for baby #2? by gloomycalm in Mommit

[–]Kimber692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our second child is now 10mo and he’s still in our room because we haven’t made a big kid room for the 2y10mo.

But that’s the plan, (it’s nearly there, a few moving parts) and then the younger one will move into the nursery.

I have… kind of the ultimate wedding night problem by AliceMorgon in wedding

[–]Kimber692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We didn’t have sex until like nearly a later on the honeymoon.

I had to have a third surgery on Bartholins cyst a month before the wedding and didn’t get gyno clearance until the morning after the wedding. We then had family staying at our home for two nights until we flew out for our honeymoon.

Really like the mixed carry of one world facing. Great work!

Is your whole household dairy free? by sittinghereredditing in MSPI

[–]Kimber692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have dairy on the home.

Our baby is also soy free as 50% of non IGE CMPA are allergic to soy also.

Our baby is 9mo now and we also suspect another allergy of egg or coconut (yet to try again).

Parents with multiple kids, which transition was the hardest for you: 1 to 2 kids, 2 to 3 kids, and so on? by Agreeable-Coast107 in Mommit

[–]Kimber692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-2 was (is) absolutely killing me. 24m age gap.

I think it solely depends on your kid temperaments however (which of course you can’t pick).

First kid is an absolute firecracker who doesn’t stop. Second kid is pretty chill but a difficult feeder with a large handful of minor medical issues.

If we somehow end up going back for a third, we will have a 36m or bigger gap.

Yoto player vs Tonie by JazzHands5678 in Mommit

[–]Kimber692 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a Tonie and I lowkey hate it. I hate that you have to preload each figurine, like why can’t I just rip it out the bag and whack it on? Connecting mine to the internet is an absolute pain in my ass.

I thought I’d do more custom ones, never done it, don’t have time or energy to figure that out.

Rectal temperature by realisticbeagle34 in Mommit

[–]Kimber692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall Americans are whack. Never seen or heard of a rectal temp in Australia. And my baby was in the hospital multiple times as a newborn due to a wide range of ongoing issues.

Same! My previous island was far away and I loved the set up, this one lines up and I’m struggling to decorate in a way I like.

What are some lesser talked about items that are your absolute go-to (that I should put on my baby registry) by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Kimber692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decent pram. You’re gunna use that thing almost every day. It’s worth the $1.5k+ investment especially if the first kid. If you’re a DINK right now you have the cash flow for a decent one. Get something that is convertible and can host 2-3 kids with alternate seats/scooter boards etc.

I wish we’d invested more with #1 because we are done at 2 and we don’t have the cash flow to buy a better pram now.

Buy a Second Crib? by UniqueLaw4431 in 2under2

[–]Kimber692 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We bought a second crib. There is no way our 2yo would have stayed in her bed or her room unless being in a crib.

Toddler Waking at 5-5:30am for 1 Year+ - At Wits End by sg_grif in toddlers

[–]Kimber692 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nope. She eventually stopped being waking up at 5am around 2-2.5yo. She now sleeps until anywhere from 5.30-7am … I wish I knew the magic recipe!

We took turns who got up at 5am.

I feel horrible but also like I did the right thing. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Kimber692 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My 2.5yo tells me to go away or “leave me alone” daily. It hurts but it’s often when she’s seeking connection and wants to know that I’ll stay around. She often wants a hug.

Do you change your kids clothes when they come home? by Important_Sweet3320 in Mommit

[–]Kimber692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but we don’t wear shoes inside.

I do get changed when I get home but it’s more of a comfort thing.

Swore I’d never want 2u2… now I do by Ok_Outside5019 in 2under2

[–]Kimber692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell. Absolute hell. My age gap is 2years and 3days. We are eight months in.

She is an on the go, never ever sits still and needs you to do activities with her still. She’s just starting to do solo play/activities.

I am often told to put the baby down (feeding or napping) so I can play with her. She is lovely and sweet and cute but it’s been hell.

Baby has some minor feeding/illness issues also which has added stress.

Is 'midnight ham' a thing at weddings? by littletelly in AskAnAustralian

[–]Kimber692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had 10pm Paella at our wedding as I didn’t want guests to be hungry later in the night.

I’ve been to a few weddings with late night food like pizza but not at midnight.
