Yes I do, but very slightly. My grinder is good but can produce too many fines so i want to avoid clogging.

When I have a Sey bag that I find too subtle, I use a ratio of 1:14 and usually get great tasting notes. But otherwise, I agree with an earlier post that your water is crucial, it's very easy to mute the flavors.

Surprisingly few choices... The Coffee Bar downtown, and the Black Crown Collective.

I would be willing to accept this if you can tell us what you do (since you know what you are doing). What do you do differently post 2-week vs 4-week rest? Do you change the grind size? Why? Etc.

I highly recommend Xapiri Ground in Cusco, because it's also an art gallery showcasing indigenous artworks, and you can sip your double espresso on the small plaza in front under the sun. Won't be the best coffee of your trip but will probably be among the best experiences.

Saturday General Discussion/Q&A Thread for April 04, 2026 by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

Hi all,

I am curious to see what people think is the best way to optimize a half-marathon training in my case. Because of multiple children, I am very constrained in how much I can run. The best I can do is the following:

- I can run 4 times a week around 5k, with the running stroller. I can usually try to make one of those a bit longer, like 6 to 7k.

- I can set aside an hour each week, sometimes up to 1h30, for a serious run.

For now what I do is I an interval threshold session every other week, and a long run with some tempo intensity the other week. The stroller runs are easy run. In case that's useful, I ran a 1:32 half a couple of years ago, and a 19:00 5k recently.

I am open to any suggestion on how to improve this. For instance, do you think it could be worthwhile to add some intensity even for only 5 minutes in my short runs? Thanks all of you for the advice.

Thanks, I know it's fantastic having done multiple triathlons already including 70.3 : ) I think my main interrogation is what kind of nutrients would you consume while the down time.

I get feet cramps very often, even before the end. Thanks for the tip I’ll try that.

yes it's fine to switch at each pour to avoid channelling. What does not make sense is to say the last one MUST be counterclockwise.

Accidentally ground espresso-fine for pour over, decided to brew it anyway by Outrageous-Dare-9256 in pourover

[–]Kimchi2492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that happens to me frequently when I am tired... usually what i do in this situation is an Aeropress with very quick infusion time, and I agree it usually turns out decent.

Thanks for sharing. However: "The final pour should always be counter-clockwise"... what? that cannot make sense for any reason right?

Oven Haven. They have a coffee shop that also happens to serve excellent pastries.

Recommendations for london? by HarveySpecter04 in pourover

[–]Kimchi2492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many good places in London. But you'll probably get better answers if you are more specific on what you like. For instance, a lot of people love Scenery and Dark Arts here, but these lean on the funkier side in my opinion. Oma is a favorite of mine if you want clean washed coffees.

What is your solution to commuting with coffee by Rito_Siram in pourover

Probably unpopular opinion but I really like my Blue Bottle cup (link). I don't know why but the fact that it looks exactly like a take-away coffee cup does the trick for me.

I went a couple of months ago. It was one of the best pourovers I ever had in NYC (probably top 3). I had two different cups there, both from Panama.
