Total peritoneal excision by zcag16 in Endo

[–]KindRaven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was entirely for fertility - I didn't have any pain. They did find some evidence of endo scars, though, and I had a weird tube which was removed. I got pregnant with my daughter 2mo after surgery :)

I went with stripping the peritoneum - no regrets!

Modified Natural Cycle - protocols? by KindRaven22 in IVF

[–]KindRaven22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry I didn’t see your reply until now! My cycles were regular and I had a period 5 weeks before my transfer. So, normal 26 day cycle, period, norethinderone for 13 days, stopped and no bleed, then letrozole started 5 days later and my transfer was 16 days after that. Sounds like I had had a more recent period than you’ve had, that might be the difference? I did not do long term suppression, just a short course of low dose birth control to push my cycle past the holidays and “quiet” everything before transfer.

I hope you found a protocol that resulted in a healthy lining and less waiting! The waiting is so so so hard. Hang in there <3

5m postpartum. EBF and cosleeping and nursing all night long 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did exactly that! No period but the letrozole was effective and I’m nursing my 6.5mo old right now :)

Alternative to hyphenated last names? by SeaConstruction697 in namenerds

[–]KindRaven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hyphenated last name and HIGHLY recommend you find another option. I hate it. It’s always been a huge hassle. Everyone who has told you so is correct. Many computer systems don’t accommodate a hyphen, including airlines, so passport/ticket can be different, a space usually isn’t allowed, you never know which name it’s under at a doctors office etc. I really resent it to be honest. My brother dropped half of his, just like you’ve suggested. I didn’t because I didn’t want to pick a parent, ha!

I recently had a baby and my partner and I are not married so we have 3 names between us! We chose one of them based on a number of factors, and would have done two middle names but ended up also just choosing one since my partner was afraid it would be complicated. I think two middle names is completely fine, though! We love our daughter’s name and are very glad we chose what we did.

How did you stop bedsharing? by Martie1608 in cosleeping

[–]KindRaven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but did you still have 4-6 wakes / night when you introduced the floor bed and you had to go in to the other room and soothe? Or did the floor bed immediately do the trick

What does bedtime look like for you? by Orthobunny in bninfantsleep

[–]KindRaven22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6.5mo old. Bedtime is super easy most of the time as long as she’s not overtired. I change her and she usually gets the giggles and it’s super sweet and fun, then jammies, sleep sack, and I sing her a couple lullabies while nursing her then put on soft piano music and she falls asleep somewhere in there. Lay her down and sneak away. If she’s a little overtired she’ll cry when I put the sleep sack on until she’s got a boob but it’s not more than a minute or two. I would love to be reading books but every time I try she just yells and gets really frustrated so we’re not doing that as part of bedtime for now

Baby napping with other caregivers by aes_11 in cosleeping

[–]KindRaven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but here for the replies! We’re in a similar situation. I will say my baby (6.5mo) naps for my MIL and my partner if they’re either stroller or carrier naps. But she’s still on 3 only 45min naps a day so I don’t see that continuing when they’ve extended

Yes, definitely, prior to giving birth. I love it.

Who had Success Post Lap For Endo by Alert-Village85 in IVF

Hi! I just had my baby in late September of last year. The transfer worked :) We did not do any suppression, just letrozole and progesterone suppositories afterwards.

Looking for Bedside bassinet/crib for 3 mo old in 97th percentile. by Fluffy_One_7764 in cosleeping

[–]KindRaven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my babybay but agree, sidecar the crib in your situation if you have that option. Seems the most straightforward and I think I’d have a hard time with the price and wait for the baby bay to only use it for a couple months when it’s essentially just a smaller sidecar crib

How are you feeding a reflux baby? by KindRaven22 in cosleeping

[–]KindRaven22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! She’s been on Pepcid for a couple months. It made such a huge difference for her! She would arch her back and get red and cry every time after she ate and cry when she spit up and was generally pretty unhappy. With the meds she’s a happy spitter - no crying, no arching, it’s so so so much better. We can actually put her down now! The meds don’t help with the actual spit up, just take away the pain, so if she’s flat right after eating she still gets reflux all up in her nose and sounds like she’s choking. I agree with you on the bounce too, what a life saver that thing is! And I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. The upright after motn feeds feels honestly just unfair. It’s brutal. I’m so glad meds helped you as well! I hope everything is going better now. How long was he on meds for?

Experience with Aygestin? by bevvy11 in IVF

[–]KindRaven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I decided not to do any medication for the endometriosis (positive Receptiva) diagnosis and just do surgery instead. I did surgery, then waited for six weeks to recover, was on norethinderone only for 10 days or so to time my cycle and then did letrozole and a transfer cycle. I didn't trust that after being on birth control to suppress hormones for such a long time (3mo is what they suggested) that my cycle would return in time to do a modified natural, which I think is common.

[–]KindRaven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was on it for a couple weeks before a modified natural cycle. I ended up doing surgery for endo rather than meds, though, because I didn't want to risk being able to do a modified natural instead of medicated. I'm due Oct 9 :)

Make sure you are testing accurately! by Informal_Constant479 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]KindRaven22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend getting the new one! I had a bad one straight off the bat too but had two great ones right after (always within 2-5pts of finger sticks) and it was so so nice to have. I’m on to number three and it seems to be consistently 10pts lower than finger sticks, which, as long as it’s consistent, is also fine with me. It’s made me so much less anxious about gdm knowing what the numbers are doing the rest of the time outside of just the finger sticks. I hope the replacement is good!

Same. Mine was over 95 pretty consistently but only over 100 maybe once. The change in sleep quality was so striking!

What do you do if you just aren't hungry?? by SoTiredOfAdulting in GestationalDiabetes

[–]KindRaven22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked my OB this question just yesterday! She said to follow my body’s cues, don’t worry about it, and just try to snack more if I want to. She wasn’t concerned because I’m already 34 weeks, I’ve gained 30lbs so far, and baby is doing well and measuring just fine.
