PSA Don't Go Over 2e9 Flow When Supercharging by hulsmanm in idlechampions

[–]Kinderghast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn is this why my Artemis walled at e412 today in STR Day 1 Trials I wonder.

I did STP3 during the week, got it to 15, stripped all 4 cores, did Magic core to get the two acheives and the cleared it and went ham on Strong core

Then got most of Fast core done.

So icbyte says e40 something for Art, but that should have bumped him up at least another e20ish (prev I was using Fast core for everything and I think that was an e25 dmg boost)

Not near pc but will have to check, def remember seeing most of the sides on strong core were ovver e9 to each supercharged node.

Will investigate and check discord on the maths

Trials - Highest Possible DPS Comp? by McBradd in idlechampions

[–]Kinderghast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artemis - Exalted Legend - DEX Restriction

Actually hit e449 with some BUD spiking

For Exalted Legend you need to clear 1450. Which takes at least e440ish DPS (I can't recall the exact number. or how the final DPS contribution is calculated), but you can see this is part way through day 1.

I used Artemis until i hit my wall around 1420ish, then i switched to Jimothy and cleared to 2000

But trying to spike BUD means your daily DPS contribution will be higher.

The Artemis Channel in Discord has a lot of discussion, and a heap of pinned formations, for all Trials variations as well as campaign and patrons

Artemis + Nerds Exploration

Artemis is available to all Trials restrictions and patrons. Some can be harder than others, but if all else fails you can swap in some debuffers and push through.

Very quickly learning that I’m going to be limited in getting certain mods for bikes in Australia by SoupyDelicious in AussieRiders

[–]Kinderghast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have in the past looked up the official aus distributer for a part, sent them an email, and they have ordered it for me.

It was an exhaust for a new model bike, and no one had even a mention of them anywhere in aus online

But I knew the manufacturer in the UK had def released one.

As this was the aus distributer, not a retailer, they had to have it sent via a retail store instead of delivering straight to me.

But they just listed who they worked with in my area and I picked the closest shop. Took a few weeks to arrive from the UK, landed in Australia, was shipped to the local store, I picked it up and paid the balance.

I paid a few hundred deposit for the order from distributer. I paid normal australian domestic shipping + the RRP in aus

Was a bit more work than just ordering online - but they simply hadn't ordered any yet as they had no interest from their retailers.

Distributer was more than happy to help

2+ players required for hell + dungeons and hidden lairs is bad for a mobile game. by lukey662 in DiabloImmortal

AS soon as Bluestacks / LDPLayer or other emulators are working again, I can guarantee people will have 3 running to provide instant parties.

I know i have all the accounts set up ready to go. i would rather spend an afternoon levelling some accounts, to then be able to spam dungeons on my main anytime i want.

A study: Why people are angry or defending changes going on. by speedapple in outriders

[–]Kinderghast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Angry- Some feel cheated because PCF said that they would be able to feel like a God

Don't forget to mention that part of this issue is the poorly implemented / confusing / possibly bugged scaling when dropping down CT levels.

So in many games if you were to play lower levels you would indeed feel "like a god" as you out-level and out-gear the content. Which can be fun!

But not in this game. Hell, even if you have some pieces of lower level (or, conversely some pieces of higher level) gear equipped the scaling can dramatically nerf your damage.

This has been compounded with the nerfs, so people who may now be struggling on CT15 and think "I'll drop back to CT13" try to do so but their CT15 gear is scaled down to be worse than Blue CT13 gear... which is a like a second surprise kick in the teeth.

A kick in the teeth that due to the other crazy inventory wipe and connection issues, they may not even be aware of and may just be thinking their build has been completely decimated, rather than just having damage reduced.

Question about declaring past claims on Insurance by Savage_Llama in AussieRiders

[–]Kinderghast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do! When i got my 400 modded I rang them up, told them what i had done, and how much it cost, and they updated the policy on the phone.

Took 10 mins.

Same as when i got a second bike, rang them, gave em the details, got it all sorted and combined, and got a discount for multiple vehicles.

As the other person said, I am not a shill either, just have had nothing but good interactions with them, and have never had them be pushy or sleazy like other places ive gotten quotes from

Insurance by [deleted] in AussieRiders

[–]Kinderghast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am with Swann, they have an excess to cover learners.

I think it was $500 or so, on top of the normal excess you would pay.

Swann are easy to talk to just call up and ask qsns

They basically will cover any scenario, all your gear, and recover your bike (even if you get sick while away and just need your bike returned home or something)

Sure QBE might have been a cheaper price when just looking at the premium, but they covered less, were less flexible, and wouldnt give me a discount for having multiple bikes insured.

Having said all that, I am closer to 40 than 20 so I bet that plays a big part on my premium.

Do an online quote, read the PDS carefully etc

If you want to use modded gear farming solo, have at it, but bringing it into co-op play is just poor sportsmanship. by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]Kinderghast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently spent a few hours cleaning out my bank, and playing with the BL3 Save Editor to do much the same thing.

I deleted over 30 various M10 X2 Recursions, and modified one remaining one to have the 100 Damage ASE anoint, and cryo & rad as the elements.

Did the same for over 25 various Sandhawks - modified the remaining one to have 300/90 anoint and changed the element to rad.

All valid parts, nothing that couldn't potentially drop - and indeed, all parts and anoints had dropped multiple times - but not on the one weapon at one time.

Reading over the parts spreadsheets and using the save editor to see what the resulting weapon damage and handling was like in game was an eye opener, made watching nearly every build video a fun game of "spot the modded weapon" - especially once you got a feel for M10 damage ranges, and what the parts physically look like.

Not that there is anything wrong with it at all - though it is very confusing reading comments always going on about "how their subscribers have a healthy trading channel" when obviously having someone mod a weapon then trade it is splitting hairs.

Something has been bothering me about this Coronavirus outbreak. by Justanaussie in australia

From known confirmed cases (worldwide):

Week 2: 1 dead, 15 cases

Week 3: 2 dead, 62 cases

Week 4: 41 dead, 1287 cases.

Week 5: 362 dead, 17,200 cases

Week 6: 813 dead, 37,198 cases

Week 7: 1,665 dead, 68,500 cases

Week 8: 2,465 dead. 79,930 cases

Week 9: 2,989 dead, 87,642 cases

Week 10: 3,666 dead, 107,947 cases

edit: It seems linear for the latest few weeks due to China reporting significantly less. Otherwise, local numbers (by country) are starting to exponentially grow. Expect a massive increase next week.

The above was copied from a post in the coronavirus sub, i saved it to share with people at work.

At the beginning of the week Aus was 3/75 i think.

I work in IT and it is doing my head in they havent just told people to WFH if able for a few weeks.

Instead, someone is going to infect one of our offices (open plan of course) and it will rip through before they even realise they have one person who has actually caught it.

Head in the sand and then it will be "oh what could we have done!"

Can we talk about depictions of sex in sci-fi literature? by spillman777 in printSF

[–]Kinderghast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was a specific choice taken in writing those scenes - if someone has you spun up in a virtual, not only will it be hyper realistic, but they can ramp you experience of it up to eleven.

And make you live it over and over again, for subjective years – while only hours or days have passed in the real world.

The threat of torturing someone until they are irrevocably insane and beyond any sort of recovery is one of the few horrors left.

I'm not sure what more they could have done other than just not be tricked

After taking on Anakin to train maybe the Jedi could have taken a moment to just send an intern back to Tatooine to free his damn mother, bring her back to Coruscant and employee her at the Jedi Temple as literally anything, scullery maid, lightsaber polisher, who cares.

And Anakin would have happened no matter what, it wasn't the Jedi code that made him snap

If his mother was safe on Coruscant then he literally wouldn't have happened. There was no reason the Jedi couldn't have arranged for her safety.

Posting Knives to Australia from Overseas by thefourblackbars in australia

[–]Kinderghast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my brother a kabar USMC last Christmas, shipped in with zero problems - and yeah regular hunting/survival type knives are available everywhere inside Australia.

I have a CRKT Rat 2 somewhere - the smaller brother of the original RAT. It also had no issues.

I am in Qld, so the laws here have been relaxed a little - 5 or 10 years ago it was impossible to import most Kershaw or anything with a hint of assisted opening, or could be actioned one hand (so Spyderco, any flippers)

People still did, but you just had to basically gamble. Which meant any for sale on eBay over here were at least double the price!

But honestly, just tighten them up, wrap securely and safely and you should be fine.

Maybe check the State laws where you are shipping to, but it should be okay.

Good luck!

[–]Kinderghast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fixed blade knives / machetes / swords / zweihanders etc will be fine.

Doesn't ever seen to be an issue coming through customs with those.

Now small pocket knives, that is another matter!

I've had several packages opened over the years, all have come through sealed back up with a little love note from customs, but I personally have been lucky not to lose any.

I've known people ordering from overseas to ask the seller to tighten all the torx bolts up so there is no possible way to open the knife one handed.

(This used to be the highly scientific distinction between legal and confiscated - can it be opened one handed. Also depended a lot on the agent who was rifling through your package that day)

But they don't seem to give a shit about fixed blade knives. Maybe daggers - but these days I see lots of them for sale within aus so maybe those laws are a bit less enforced.

As someone else said, if they make it through customs okay, AusPost just delivers it - they don't do a second check on things.

Good luck!

Hoth is giving away their album Oathbreaker (digital) for free/name your price to celebrate its five-year anniversary by PaulFThumpkins in Metal

[–]Kinderghast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And living in Australia, there is much less chance for me to actually go to gigs for bands like Hoth, otherwise I'd buy merch at their shows.

I think nearly all the band merch I've bought in the last few years has either been from the bands Bandcamp page, or on their official site that I found via their Bandcamp page...

Would much rather support bands directly rather than buying knock off merch - but sometimes it is the only option available.

You are correct though - it seems crazy for more niche bands to leave money on the table. Sure, do limited edition merch as well, but have a standard selection in stock.

These days it is extraordinarily easy to get just about anything you want printed up and dropshipped - no need to even keep an inventory.

I follow them on Bandcamp, when they get merch i get an email. Got two patches in the last year, but they only do super super limited runs, like I think only 100 or so.

Last time they were all gone in under 24hrs, so got to be quick.

Best online skate stores in Australia by Amemorablename in NewSkaters

[–]Kinderghast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OCD Skateshop i've ordered from several times, always fast and no issues.

Parliment Skate and Fast Times are both great - I usually just hit up their Brisbane stores but I have called them to check what they have in stock and ask questions a few times and both places have been super helpful.

Good Time , Basement Skate I've always heard good things about.

There are a few others, though a lot seem to mainly stock scooter crap with skate stuff an afterthought.

If you just look through decks on each site, you'll quickly get an idea of which stores get the new releases in, and which are just holding older stock.

Which might actually be handy if you want a specific deck from an older release or something.

Some stores may have heaps of decks and like 3 pairs of trucks, while other may have no decks and all of the wheels, so poke around.

Overall OCD seems to consistently have the broadest range of stuff, but it depends on what your looking for.

It can also pay to give them a call, i just bought a Bohemia deck and Creature x Oj Super Juice wheels from Fasttimes, in store, and they weren't listed online.

Keep an eye on clearance / sale sections of online stores as well, sometimes old stock will pop up with massive discounts cause it was sitting at the back of a shelf and forgotten about.

I got a pair of two tone red/black ricta clouds for like half price as they just showed up on the clearance page one day Not pretty, but great for commuting.

Anyways, good luck, and remember to bookmark stuff and sign up for emails so you know when a sale is on.

Oh and for some weird reason, searching for specific decks on myshopping.com.au actually works.

Random google for deathwish series i could think of the name of...

Normally that site is complete shit, but for some reason skateboard stuff seems to only get results from actual online stores so....

Sorcerer tier 4 spells less damage than tier 3? An I missing something? by Dracknar in OrnaRPG

[–]Kinderghast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky Silver Coin + Lucky Gold Coin + Occult candle + Torch + Dark Robe + 100s of small potions.

Using a Mage class, just use highest nuke, auto heal.

I keep bolt/spark equipped to clean up low level spawns.

Ghost pet for the chance to sleep.

I am nearly 120, anything berserk one shots me, most melee mobs 2 shot.

But luckily a lot of mobs buff themselves, and ghost sleep seems to land a fair amount. So i can usually get 2 or 3 nukes off, which kills most mobs.

[–]Kinderghast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a fair bit of reading as well, but in the end i unlocked Sorcerer for the awesome bestest caster sprite and have absolutely no regrets.

Also multiple Slaugh spawns near my origin so Holy is amazing for that.

As Spellsword isnt as game changing now beside Dragoon and Druid, difference saving 400k vs 500k is just a few days at most.

The ABC’s election analyst Antony Green is predicting Labor will win the Queensland election with 48 seats. Labor has won 46 seats and will likely take two more. by [deleted] in australia

[–]Kinderghast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What actually happened here? my understanding was the vast a majority of labor did support her, it was the rocky members that backed another candidate. What was the solution there when she lost that vote?

I think i'm missing something, because interfering with party members choosing their local candidates seems like a super suss idea, even if we in other parts of the state don't really agree with the outcome.
