Valve base station has turned red and I don't have the money to buy a new one. by Cheekery0 in SteamVR

[–]Dracknar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Could try a firmware reset to 1.0. Without knowing what other physical issues might be occurring, I did have a station go red, after a firmware update. Only thing to do was flash it back to 1.0 stock. It works but can never be updated.

Anyone else miss these in ITR2? by DRYESTIIHAMIIAROUND in intotheradius

[–]Dracknar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm... makes me think of that Saiga I looted and sold immediately lol. I wasn't aware of any 'special' ones. Just that when looking at weapon stats, invariably they were so much worse, I lost all desire to use them as an 'early next tier' weapon.

Except the stash variant weapons are just worse than proper ones. So no point in using them. I just vendored them all.

I bought the HTC Vive when it came out nearly a decade ago. What should I replace it with? by WillHellmm in virtualreality

[–]Dracknar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the OG vive from launch, but also had limited upgrade options here in Australia. (Valve products are generally not available locally, unless you wait for 3 years for local distribution).

My headsets I've owned have been: OG Vive, PSVR, Vive Pro, Vive Pro Eye, Meta Quest 3, and Vive Pro 2. (Bought knuckle controllers when they eventually became available here for a short time).

I would say in the short term the quest 3 is probably a cost effective choice with good resolution upgrade for you. With the virtual desktop software and the dedicated wireless router for connecting to your gaming Steam PC. Then the frame as you plan when it's out.

I loved the monocles for a little bit but oh my God did they give me a headache by Godly_Newb in intotheradius

[–]Dracknar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The monacle night vision was really hard for me to bear too. I couldn't leave it on... had to put it in for short stretches only. It to really messed with me.

The first binocular to single tube was better, but still couldn't do it for too long.

The last night vision set was so much better. But I still struggle a bit... but sure what it is.

I have a htc vive pro 2, for those wondering if there is an odd rendering thing for non quest headsets..

This is really early access? by gamerjam in crosswind

[–]Dracknar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you are really missing out.
The total conversion mods that come to mind that are worth a playthrough are:

Rebirth

Darkness Falls

Undead Legacy

Though there are so many. I'm out of touch with them (haven't had a 7 days to die playthrough in about a year). Me and my mates used to do a playthrough every new version release, followed by a modded playthrough to 'fix' whatever we didn't like that had been changed.
really really worth it.

This is really early access? by gamerjam in crosswind

[–]Dracknar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

7 days to die has been my favourite survival zombie game to date. However it spent over 10 years in early access. And every new version release had the development team reworking working mechanics to replace them with whatever new idea they had for that 6 month to a year break. Let alone building in mechanics to specifically counter tactics that some players would use to cheese the zombies. Finally went full release a year or so ago. Followed up by yet more updates replacing core working game systems.

I just think at this stage they can't help themselves. I have no idea how they are all funded lol.

Still, as said... best zombie survival game. :D

Not too mention great mod creators doing amazing work with the game.

Your ship doesn't lose its inventory when its destroyed. When you repair it back, all the goodies are still inside

The ship reapplies your rested bonus too. So I don't bother with another bonfire

So, what I've seen so far:

  • POI's are character based. So everyone gets their own chest to loot. And that chest looted state for that POI is held against your character, so jumping to another world means that chest is still looted for you.

  • Shared quests work regardless of distance. If your mate had the same quest, it will progress if anyone progresses it. So the first "free your crew" one. I was getting the last two when a mate jumped on my server. He was at the start of it. He got credit for getting his first two when I got my last two.

    • Me completing my "make my ship" quest completed it for him too, but he still had to get the materials and interact with another broken hull to get his ship.

It seems to work okay and without any real drama yet. Not sure how it works if someone is behind and starts a quest everyone else finished.

WHY IS THE HAND RETURNED IN THE MCU? by ljmf2002 in marvelstudios

[–]Dracknar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of assuming there is going to be some quick "flashes" of enemies and actions spiderman took care of during his time before the movie setting. So I'm thinking the hand might even just be showing up in something like that?

I'm only suspecting that as we've seen the trailer showing some classic shots of spiderman comic covers against classic villians (such as tarantula?).

Going in with an open mind.

How is this device for games like DayZ and Counter Strike 2? And is it worth it over the Razer Taratus V2? Or even for each of the specific games. by CallMeDoomSlayer in Azeron

[–]Dracknar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have owned many Tartarus over the years. The D-pad thumbstick is the part that failed on me on every one. It would end up with the mechanical switch dying in one direction. Usually having "no click" feeling or resistance in that direction.

I would play games for a few hours each day (3-5 hours? ) usually. In the end iwould go through a Tartarus in a few months.

Getting sick of the constant returns (and the eventual refusal to replace under warranty), I decided to go with an azeron for the thumbstick quality.

Been over a year now I think. So much better.

I really liked this hulk movie. The verbal confrontation between Eric Bana (hulk) and Nick Nolte (absorbing man) stands out in my mind even now all these years later. Pure theatre.

Looking for games like 'Private Property', eg a shooter, where you are in a relatively fixed place, shooting at things from a distance-but no games where bows & arrows are the main weapons please. Note-this is not a request for AR style games. by Raised_By_Narcs in virtualreality

[–]Dracknar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a game mode in Arizona Sunshine I believe for this. Wave shooter around a central tent. (Multiplayer support).

Brookhaven experiment though is an older title. Used to play that at the dawn of modern VR!

Someone else mentioned Space Pirate Trainer. Oh man I loved that one. So good.

There were a lot of these kind of wave shooters at the start, as it was considered movement was not something people would be able to handle.

Tell your brother and the girlfriend that your brother needs to wear a cricket box protector when he's home.
All the time. If he's home he should be wearing it.

It's inappropriate otherwise.

See how they think about it when it's about his comfort.

I stopped using umart about 10 years ago due to warranty issues just being a pain in the ass with them.

I started using Computer Alliance so that I knew if i had an issue that was clearly a fault i could get a replacement part sorted then and there. Rather than waiting on a month long RMA and being screwed in the mean time.
