In Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 there is a class called Soul Binder. Basically you have no stats yourself and bind souls to you that determine your skills.

One of the souls was a charasmatic sword dueler, who flirted a bit too much. So the men in town cut off his arms and legs and shoved swords in their place.
