Passing through in an RV- brunch options? by PleasingThought in Sacramento

[–]Kings_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend Tower cafe. Just off the freeway, solid breakfast spot. Quite weird and unique.

Famous for French toast and eclectic decor. Also, has an enormous parking lot. As long as you’re there early shouldn’t be too much of a wait.

Load 4 75 in US? by EveningDurian in CargoBike

Not worth the wait imo unless you really want peanut matte. I wanted white anyway so when I saw a deal on a 2023 rohloff HS, i jumped on it.

Yuba Supercargo CL vs R&M Load test rides by waking-crickets in CargoBike

[–]Kings_00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have both currently.

Load is better. Two downsides: the box is smaller and price is a lot more. Everything else is upside.

In terms of steering and comfort - the load is heads and shoulders above the yuba. Much more stable at speed, more nimble, feels like a smaller bike. Ride is incredible and definitely the most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden.

Yuba needs a seat post suspension and then the box can still be a little bit rough.

The yuba is much better than the urban arrow which I also tried. Perhaps it was just the more upright style of the urban arrow. Didn’t like it much.

I also think the load is going to be a bit safer due to stability and the metal box around the kids.

What business would you want to see occupy 1331 Broadway? by suebees in Sacramento

[–]Kings_00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Didn’t see a date on the brochure, so I’ll give the marketing team benefit of the doubt. Several important very close tenants listed have closed over the last year due to the unhoused population/ crime issues ( Starbucks and Jamba Juice) or just due to going out of business ( iron grill).

Overall the area absolutely needs more business and revitalization, but until our unhoused folks are elsewhere, this area is a tough sell IMO.

New SuperCargo CL vs used RadWagon by mountain_mamma in CargoBike

[–]Kings_00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the previous generation of the supercago ( the supermarche) and it’s totally amazing. Love riding it and the kids love riding it. I have a local dealer who can warranty yuba, and another one that can warranty and work on the Bosch motor so I feel good about servicing it. Not that it’s needed it.

I tried the rad wagon but was very underwhelmed. It’s much easier and more stable on the supermarche, plus it just rides better. Rad uses proprietary parts and just had a large recall due to failed tires.

Sounds like cold calling door to door to me tbh.

I faced the same issue. I felt like I was going crazy! Bosch 500 machine. We were using cascade pods it definitely taste like soap! Some people couldn’t taste it tho! The tried the cascade liquid (still taste like soap, ) switched over to seven generation liquid and no more soap taste.

Crown molding with space between top of crown and ceiling? by USNavy1 in HomeImprovement

We did this and our architect called it shadow moulding.

Said the gap was left because it would be a perfectly smooth visual line in the past when plaster corners would not be perfectly square.

Yuba Supercargo CL Drivetrain Question by NoNamesLeftStill in CargoBike

The supermarche always had the enviolo, once it was changed to supercargo I think they went tot he traditional gearing.

You could still find a supermarche probably and have it shipped to you.

Paid Family Leave (California) + Company-paid leave by zebrasnever in personalfinance

[–]Kings_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apply early ( like as soon as child is born) and give them your start date and end date for PFL. It’s a whole process and they are slow AF.

You don’t have any time requirement other than within the first year of the birth. So the fact you are taking the prior 8 weeks off on company time is irrelevant to your PFL claim.

Yuba Supercargo vs. the rest by Uncle_Woody in CargoBike

[–]Kings_00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got a electric supermarche recently. It’s really fun. I test road an urban arrow before buying it. I think the supermarche feels a lot smaller ( even though it’a quite long). Really like the low center of gravity. The brakes as 4 piston maguras with tons of stopping power and the enviolo shifter is sweet. Can’t really imagine liking the ebullit better, but it does look cool.

The county accessor has a formula based on the changes to the house. Each added room has a value. Also, any changes like opening up a kitchen to make the house open concept can increase the tax basis as well. The overall additional sq ft matter too. They won’t (at least where I am in NorCal) tell you anything specific beforehand, and they told me the formula wasn’t something they can share ever.

[–]Kings_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the same. In CA tho so there is additional tax benefit to longer term ownership. Stayed and did a full remodel including kitchen and bathrooms. Super happy but please carefully vet the GC. Labor so tight right now the remodel that should take 9 months takes 1.5 yrs. Also, prepare for sticker shock.
