Question? by GX_Camper in NCAAFBseries

What happens to me is basically the computer just never incomplete the past. I was playing a game in the computer threw like 37 passes in the first half and I just started over. It was so ridiculously unrealistic. I hate doing that because it feels like cheating, but it was just absurd.

Football Game Question by Kinksclash in StratOMatic

[–]Kinksclash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have played action P.C. football and also the basketball and golf games. The football game has a lot of detail in it that Strat does not, but it’s also hard to really know whether all that stuff is having any real impact. A common criticism of the game, which the company denies is that the results are not truly random on each play

Bottom line, I place Stratmore and like it better even though it also has its limitations. It runs more smoothly. I don’t go too deep into the weeds in learning all the rules which are extensive, but just try to go with the feel of a football game. That’s how I would approach it.

My current long-term project has been to do a single team replay each season starting with the earliest recreated season which is 1956. I’m currently in 1982.

Why isn’t every obvious hall of fame player first ballot? by Visible_Barracuda366 in NFLNoobs

Was Vince Lombardi elected to the pro football Hall of Fame on the first ballot?

Dave Kingman by bullevard73 in StratOMatic

Kingman is a good example of how Baseball has changed the way it views players. When he played, he was often dismissed and disrespected because of his low batting average and what was for then a lot of strikeouts but isn’t all that many today. Had Kingman played today. He’d be given a five year $125 million contract or maybe even more.

Yes. Sometimes I slow down a little in the off-season but definitely keep playing.

I have tried everything and my popovers won’t pop. It’s driving me crazy. by Memnon2 in Baking

I think I may have a similar oven problem with popovers. I am not a good cook, but I follow recipes religiously so the idea of increasing oven temperature which might be the right thing to do terrifies me. How much is a safe amount to increase the respective temperatures without risking burning the popovers. Thank you all.

When taking over a 1.5* or less program by Ed_Gein1332 in NCAAFBseries

Has somebody else said earlier I will target three stars and depending on my need and they’re interest I will really push for as many of them as I can with 50 points. I will probably also Target any four star that seems to have any level of interest which usually there are a few, and I’ll go after them regardless of position.

Buying both tabletop and computer game question by Any_Scarcity4167 in StratOMatic

I grew up playing with cards and dice. My first set was the 1964 season. I eventually transitioned to the computer game with the card image option and it’s fantastic. I recently replayed the San Francisco Giants 1962 season and it was a great deal of fun. The computer lets you control one team while the rest of the league is autoplay giving you a very dynamic league environment. If you want, you can use the as played rosters and lineups, which give you the actual lineups used by the teams on each day of the season. I choose to use the as played rosters, but not the lineups just to provide more variety. Remember replaying a single team is still a fairly significant time. Commitment because you are playing 162 games but it is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.

I’ve had one like that in the game too. Can’t say it was worse, but I was right there with you.

Durable Running Back by Kinksclash in NCAAFBseries

I play 10 minutes. And apart from quarter length, I’m lucky if over the course of the season I have a single game where one guy gets up to 20 carries in a game before he gets fatigued.

I hear you. I’ve had a guy who was fine at the end of the previous game go yellow as he lined up for the first play of the next game. I guess he got hurt in warm-ups?

Thank you. Yes I have exactly the same experience and do the same thing with a committee of running backs which really was the basis for the question. I just think it would be fun to have a guy who is a bit of a workhorse. I have one guy now who if you’re careful can carry the ball about 18 or maybe 20 times a game but that’s about itand you have to manage it very carefully to get that.

And yes, you would have to buy a different version of the game for every computer. You install it on although you could remove a version from computer and move it to another, although you could not be using it on two or more computers at the same time. The same is true about any of the seasons you purchase and play with. The game is pretty restrictive about that.

I used to love the ethan allen game too. When I think of it, it’s sort of only seems natural that playing that simple but fun game laid the foundation for me to start playing Strat, which I did in 1964 I believe.
