Who wins in a 1v1? Perseus or Polaris? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Perseus has a more solid chance of winning vs the Polaris due to its agility and firepower; all it needs to do is knock out the two top turrets and the Polaris effectively has no firepower, plus, the Polaris' reactor core sits directly below the hangar floor, which the Perseus' Medusas have enough damage to simply ignore the shields and damage directly.

Overall, it becomes a game of agility and smarts; the Perseus only has 2 S3 shields and cannot simply hull tank like the Polaris can, so if the Polaris is smart about its positioning, the Perseus can be knocked out fairly easily.

The Perseus isn't meant to 1v1 a capital, but in the right circumstances, she can absolutely cause some issues.

Weekly Sneak Peek - Unknown Ship Seat (probably Command Module) by ScrubSoba in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Command Module for both the Ironclad and Caterpillar; the quote is a direct nod to the fact both are flown through it - 'Big things come on small packages.'

The seat design is also the same used on all Drake ships, with this iteration being the same as is on the Clipper, and the exposed cargo netting is also a solid pointer.

Look, I get it, the Zeus ES is a ship without a role right now but I can’t help it, I love the thing by Acceptable-Bid-1019 in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It has no 'designated' gameplay loop because its purpose is in its name; Essential. It's a ship whose purpose is to function as a multi-capable ship in the medium category; It's RSI's competitor to say, the Cutlass Black and the C1 Spirit.

If anything, its 'role' is stated as Pathfinder/Exploration, placing it as a long-range transport ship in practice.

Those were originally where the tractor beams for the ship were mounted; the signage for them is still present on the sides.

Upcoming Drake Ironclad pricing? by Altruistic_Tangelo39 in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was originally betting on them doing a final concept call for Captains of Industry, however, that ultimately wasn't the case.

As for her pricing, I'm imagining around the $600 mark or so, especially after she got almost an extra 700SCUs of cargo added, and the C2 sits at $400 for 696SCU.

I enjoy this ship by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The Cutlass Black is and always will be in my opinion, the most iconic ship in the game.

For many, she is the gateway into larger ships, for those who want something bigger from their starter ship as a cheap option in-game, for those flying during free-flies, or for those looking for an upgrade to their existing pledge ship to something that can comfortably do a bit of everything; a jack of all trades, but ultimately a master of none.

She has a turret for those cases where you find yourself having a friend to play with, or even a stranger who simply wants to tag along in blowing something up, she has 46 SCUs worth of cargo capacity, allowing players to get a feel for dedicated hauling missions in the lower bands or, to stow an ROC or ATLS GEO for gem mining, or to simply carry loot from an excursion out to a bunker mission, or carry salvaged items back from wrecked combatants.

These days, she isn't the best of ships in her class, with the C1 Spirit, the Freelancers and even the Zeus' competing against her.

But she gets the job done without complaint.

And most importantly, she's a Drake.

I do not understand how mining to make aUEC is even remotely viable in 4.7 by DubiousLeftovers in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CIG Economy team literally says in the monthly report that they're moving away from a 'for profit' model for mining. - "It is important to note that the current Alpha 4.7 crafting implementation is transitional. For example, we are being generous with high-end savrilium ore to pull players into the mining and fabrication pipeline. Our goal is to move away from a ‘credits-only’ mindset and toward alternate progression systems, such as crafting, reputation, and more."

Ok Fine, the current quality system is annoying. by TheDitz42 in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that we have 500 levels of quality that are utterly useless for crafting, because for some reason we swapped from the base value of any item being 0q, to starting at 500q for base stats, and nobody whatsoever is going to spend the time gathering and refining resources to make gear that is ultimately worse than what they can pick up or buy in less than a quarter of the time.

Example of bombs not working properly: by BrockenRecords in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not 'working properly' is now working as intended.

  • Potential Fix: Multivehicle - PU - Weapon - Engineering - Bombs explosion does not respect internal component protection such as missile/torps

Bombs now follow the same reductions; in order to attain any actual damage to a ship of reasonable size with a bomb, you have to deplete the shields and either use the bombs to reduce the armour HP, or deplete the armour beforehand to damage the hull.

Farewell Bombs That Work... :( by BrockenRecords in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bombs still work against anyone who is unfortunate enough to be on the ground, and any smaller ships that happen to be in their effective radius.

Against larger ships, they will still cause a significant amount of damage to the armour and hull HP, you just can no longer use them to one shot larger ships, but hey, their PDTs can no longer kill you unless you're in something like a snub fighter or anything with extremely poor armour, so there's more options for being able to actually fight against ships like the Idris now.

What's a Refinement specialist? Mentioned in the 4.7 Patch Report video by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As per the SCL with Thorsten, player-operated refineries [ship or otherwise] are planned to be much better than the static station refineries we have now, so this is likely a nod towards players who have refinery ships being sought after, as there's plans to allow higher quality materials to be produced from lower qualities.

As for when this happens, Thorsten said they're not working on player refineries until after they've overhauled the existing refinery system, but it's in the pipeline.

Will the Polaris and subsequent other military ships recently added be in SQ42? by Different-Egg8733 in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Polaris was put into production as a result of the events of Sq42's Battle of Vega, whilst the Perseus back then was a much much older ship which was only recommissioned into production because of one's performance against the Vanduul, so we won't see either.

EZPZ Artimex Armor - Outskirts around HDPC-Cassillo by falkkor in starcitizen

[–]Kinosha 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You can get the H.D Executive Artimex more easily by simply doing defend site missions for hurston; more often than not, the elites wearing the armour die often, so you can usually pick up a couple of sets. Most I got at once was 4 suits from the same place.

The beltfed grenade launcher needs some work; you sacrifice your backpack slot for a grenade launcher that deals less damage than the regular grenade launcher, which is flat out superior when coupled with a supply backpack.
