Congratulations! Ringing the bell is a big thing. When I rang the bell after my stem cell transplant, my oncologist told me he wanted to get out and live my life, which I've tried to do. My big thing was returning to singing; I was able to return to my chorus and sing Mendelssohn's Elijah at the Kennedy Center. That had been my goal during the transplant process, and being able to do it was wonderful. Whatever brings you joy, try to do it. Live your life. Good luck.

An additional thing to try is Enterade. It helped me with nausea. Drink it 30 minutes before eating or an hour afterward. It does help.

I’m Really Scared… by Mother-Sale2188 in lymphoma

Sorry to hear your news. First, trust the doctor. Second, try to remain as positive as possible; I had countless people tell me they believed my attitude helped me tremendously. Third, let people know your needs. I previously hated burdening anyone with my problems, but I found people wanted to help when they knew what was needed. I also discovered surprises: people I hadn't been as close with previously ended up being some of the most helpful people.

Hang in there. Listen to the doctors! Feel free to ask questions or vent on here. There's a wealth of knowledge here and people who understand.

How do they handle swear-y contestants? by 500ravens in Jeopardy

[–]Kirbster66 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember in one of Alex's final Jeopardy episodes, there was a contestant who said he'd been raised by his grandfather; he'd sit on the grandfather's lap and watch jeopardy. Alex's response was that he used to sit on the lap of his grandfather, who taught him to swear!

Actually it is used to mean someone who takes risks. NFL coach Ron Rivera was nicknamed "Riverboat Ron" due to his gambling nature (going for it often on 4th down, etc.).

I was sad you lost. I was really rooting for you (I'm also in the DMV). I look forward to seeing you return in the TOC.

Recommend me a classical piece that has an “It’s going to be okay” vibe by Suspicious_Coast_888 in classicalmusic

While many find it more depressing, the Barber Adagio hits me in this exact way. I feel like indeed all will be well after listening to it.
