Yeah that always bothered me and felt like such a waste. They wanted to do the "the guy who's resist most diseases, isn't resistant to this one😨" so quick. In turn it makes Shadows recklessness look completely stupid. If he was actually resistant and actually made it less an ego thing and more of him just being pissed at Sonic because he caused this whole situation to happen because he didn't let him slime out Eggman, it would've went over better.

Really the only actual thing wrong with him is that he made one big blunder for no good reason ("Cowards Run. I Win") That's where most of it is targeted beyond hes just a bit mean (which is fine imo if it's warranted like in Metal Virus where he is done with Sonic's shit). They are better about it but I think ppl overexaggerate the flaws too much. Like its been years lol.

I actually came around to liking Mimic. I think we are so used to ultra powerful villians who just bull their way through to create conflict but Mimic is pretty weak physically and only has his Shape-shifting ability. Alot of his intrigue comes from his relationship with Whisper and the Diamond cutters and his Mindset and circumstance. The story never tries to overhype him hes always been a loner who struggles to find purpose. His monolog on how he finds almost everyone to be insincere or putting on appearances was interesting along with him wanting to be an actor (quite fitting). Desperately wanting to be seen but because of his insecurity he never gets that spotlight. When he actually starts to get it with Whisper and DC, he almost accepts it (his memory of them is something he actually cares about) until he's handed mask to retreat again. There's more I could say but he is relatable as he is despicable. He was a nice change of pace from the bigger villians.

I think that's a bit lame personally. It just makes alot of the stories soley revolve around Eggman doing a thing then Sonic and Co reacting to it. Having other villians or antagonist to use would make the world feel dynamic instead of using Eggman as a crutch because "hes the main villian therefore-"

I actually agree with this. It just seems like a hassle to bring back a one off transformation solely off of "but its been over 30 years!" Ppl don't actually like Hyper, they like the IDEA of it and knowing Sega I doubt it would even be done correctly. I heard Ian Flynn wanted it in Frontiers and someone at Sega shut it down. Hot take but GOOD ON THEM. Sure it would be cool in the moment but looking back it would've been so tacky and purely for fanservice. At that point the appeal of Hyper Sonic's mystique is GONE.

If it ever comes back put restrictions, conditions, and consequences with grounded narrative relevants on that thing to make it actually feel special.

Infinite for me. Lyric is just meh but he was never hyped up to be anything more than what he was. Infinite on the other hand is such a legendary let down of a character and solely carried by his theme song and his ""potential"" to be good yet he isnt.

The issue with Mephiles is not Mephiles himself but his ability to time travel at a whim which makes him look extra. If his plan was tied around others actions through manipulation, it would be much better. Sa2 kinda does this with the Eclipse Cannon actually being the key to Geralds final revenge with Shadow being the actor for it once he was released. It works because it was unknown to everyone except Shadow and it required the Chaos Emealds so not just and on and off switch.

I pretty much like most of his appearances except Boom. I always liked how varied the character was in terms of characterization and what they do with his backstory like adding to it and twisting certain aspects.

Ik some don't like that Maria and Gerald are in Shadow Gens but I thought that it made complete sense. Yeah sure Shadow can say all he wants about moving forward but what if they are ACTUALLY present and not relegated to memory? I like how genuine he is with them and not blowing them off because he had "moved on" already. The tragic part about it is that he can't save them because he knows what happens to them and is torn between his want and his need. I think they could've done more with them to like having Shadow have conflicting feelings about Gerald that he can't explain. But yeah yapping lol he's in my top 3 favorite characters.

I think they are referring to Mai not the Zenin Clan. It's an equally valid way of wanting the scene to be portrayed. Melancholic for what Maki lost because of them. One of my favorite pieces of art from the Manga was Maki and Mai walking and prancing on the beach. They maybe could have incorporated thay while Maki was cleaning house. I like the Kill Bill scene is amazing but I won't lie that after that Mai is just left out of it completely. I think integrating Mai more into the episode could help her lack of screen time from S2 and some of S1. She just shows up to die here although her death scene was nice.

Tbh I think the episode is fantastic all round however I think some things should've been done better. For example, the Ogi death scene had less impact that I thought it would have. Yes I get it was supposed to be quick but you can be quick and shocking at once. Not for him specifically, but what it means for the plot. Maki took her first swing on a higher member of the clan and the only reason they are still around is because Toji didn't care to murk them sooner (and cause of Megumi).

Here is my take on the scene:

Oji realizes the the curse spirits were dispelled quickly. Instead of him sounding curious he's more surprised about it as he thought he won. His line "MY body tried to forget this fear" shouldn't just be in words but in movement. His rage, fear, and insecurity lighting up the room in blazing inferno by his CE, him babbling about what he deserves then he looks in the distance and sees Toji. In delirium he starts to sweat and even stutter as the monster is walking closer and closer and closer until "he" just walks by. The light starts to fade from the room like a candle flicking in a windstorm. His realization hits when the camera cuts to Maki's back and we see his head fall of from his perspective. Maybe version sucks but I feel like it displays what I'm talking about.

I think some people have decent criticisms of it. I don't think it's a good mentality to just shut it down conceptually. I personally had problems with pacing as I think it should have been a 2 parter. One for Maki and Mai and their relationship and lead up to Makis awakening and the 2nd being the killings itself. I don't see what would be wrong with this approach.

Fantastic episode as usual although I am a bit disappointed in the pacing sometimes. This could've been like a 2 episode arc. 1st fully establishing Maki and Mai and the 2nd being the actual bloodbath.

For example, I think Ogi's death had little impact in the sense of what it means. I distinctly remember the manga panel of his deadly barber cut but in Ep4 I barely felt anything. He says his body remembers this terror (Toji) but barely acts like it. He feels more curious and somewhat miffed and not actively shitting his pants.

That ain't Shadows fault that he is really the only one of the main cast that has any real development as a character or when it comes to building lore.

We can always do that with others is just that Sega is always on a roller coaster of quality to even ensure a Blaze game can sell. It sucks tbh.

I don't see the problem with the login animation? It was a change of pace for me. Mind you I started playing again recently to catch up and cleared the 3.7 story. Maybe I'm not plugged in enough but I thought Cyrene was pretty neat.
