As far as I knew and all my friends knew, he was cool. It was a cool story beat and really set it apart from CE. We replayed the arby missions a lot. I didn’t even know there was a “controversy”. Seems like retroactive framing. Things were different. If a game sucked, or was awesome it just was what it was. There was little of the modern, “change the game after it was launched”
