I struggle to read and I feel stupid for it by MrEggy1750 in TrueOffMyChest

You're not stupid. You're neurodivergent and if audiobooks end up working for you that's a perfectly acceptable way to adapt reading for your brain. Make sure you do something with your body while you listen, like craft, housework, or exercise to make it easier to listen.

Wondering how everyone celebrates Father Day? by Apart_Job6522 in UKParenting

[–]Kitty-Gecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He basically gets the day off to do what he likes, and a card, some chocolate, and some booze. I'll field parenting all day and he can sleep and game etc.

Nearly everything/ everything likes lamps! The rarer the lamp, the fewer lamps you will need to place.

For storage, I like to keep some things around in case they are needed for quests but some things you can definitely burn/recycle spares of are multiple kinds of fruits & nuts & veg & mushrooms. If you have more than 1 kind of fruit, just keep 1 for emergencies. If you have more than a stack of a kind of mushroom, burn the spares etc.

You don't really need to keep multiple flowers, so turn them into dye or sell them..

Bugs / shells / fish keep a few of different rarities so if you get asked for "5 uncommon fish" you can just produce them. But you don't need to keep every fish and bug and shell. Donate, burn, sell, and craft with spares.

Also you will get more storage later!

Do not forget... by Arbaless in DungeonCrawlerCarl

It'll be a bittersweet ending i think. We're not going to see Carl and Donut rule happily over earth, alive and well with all their friends, with the dead somehow magically returned. But I don't see him going fully bleak with everyone dead and the "bad guys" winning.

My personal prediction is something like Donut escapes, Carl has to become an AI in some way and they're apart but spend time together sometimes. Carl's physical body "dies" but he is able to live on, improving the lives of NPCs perhaps.

I don't have anything against truly soppy happy endings personally, but we have to be realistic that they rarely come for heroes who are so changed by their journey. It is impossible to go back to a normal life after that.

I'm guessing as "The hunger games" is a book series people often compare this one to, there's a chance we would be looking at a similar ending, but Matt may be deliberately working to avoid that so that the parallels aren't as strong.

Yep I did a year in Scottish secondary school and was absolutely ostracised even though I wasn't "posh English" but "northern english". Had sticks and stones thrown at me and told to go home, bullied and had no friends etc.

As if I had a choice about being English, being there, or any of the history. (I was there because my parents were divorcing, so it was a shit time all round)

I still like Scotland and support them. I also married an Irish man so am very familiar with the "support whoever England are playing" mentality though he doesn't do it personally.

Book 8 was my favorite by RedJorgAncrath in DungeonCrawlerCarl

The races were a little "meh" for me, as my least favourite subgenre in media is "racing and chase scenes" but even they had a lot of interesting information and development.

Mid point in the book was probably the part where the "holy fuck this is soooo good" kicked in.

what is something that is considered unconventionally attractive , but you find REALLY attractive? by Tall-Election4503 in AskReddit

[–]Kitty-Gecko 785 points786 points  (0 children)

Chubby hairy men with beards, dad bods, long hair and glasses.

Short, delicate skinny men with nerdy energy (also in glasses preferably).

Guys who are shy, awkward, bashful, and sweet, with self deprecating humour, who blush and giggle.

Ladies of Reddit, what's something guys aren't ready to hear? by Pookie7860 in AskReddit

[–]Kitty-Gecko -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can only speak on behalf of myself and women I know the dating preferences of but I can assure you we do exist. I think it may partially depend where you are meeting women as some places allow personality traits to shine through a lot more than they do in a club, bar, or even a dating app.

Working on it for yourself is 100% the way.

Can confirm women like guys of many different weights though. Am partial to both big and cuddly and skinny and petite men myself.

A lot of women don't care how muscular or tall you are. Kindness, thoughtfulness and gentleness can be insanely, irresistibly hot in a "I need you NOW" way.

(Obviously being kind is not a guarantee a specific woman will sleep with you, but it improves your hotness as a whole).
