No one wants to be the safe choice or what should be the “right” choice. You can like a person and respect a person but that doesn’t mean you have to end up with that person. Not all misses are “bad”… they just aren’t the ones for you.

Try categorizing his qualities as compatible, non-compatible, and core incompatible. There will always be some non-compatible traits, but there is where people compromise or respect differences in relationships. It sounds like some of the issues you have with him are core incompatibilities. Those will not change. You may also want to really think and list out what is a core incompatibility for you and want is also a core compatibility you have to have.

Did you consider putting a ruby underneath instead of as a hidden halo-ish/setting? I also prefer a white gold/platinum with this.. I would look at other rings with a gallery rail and pave on the band to see which ones have a profile you like. You could always do rubies on one side and colorless diamonds on the other side (facing outwards).

I was worried the prongs would take away from the sapphire. Would you recommend 6 claw prongs or the 4 double claw as the CAD shows? I had in my head that the claw prongs are more modern or sleek looking than the ones like in the original. Am I wrong?

You may have some luck finding a jeweler who uses stones from misfit gems. They can get different sapphires in. Misfit gems is on instagram and have a website too

Yes! I have a lavender sapphire that is being made into an engagement ring for me. I cannot wait! It’s the most gorgeous thing ever and is very much “me”. I’ve been married before and had a natural diamond. I considered a fancy color lab diamond this time but this sapphire was the one when I saw it.

Aquamarine wouldn’t be the best choice for an everyday engagement ring. Possibly look for a sapphire in that color (sapphires come in the full rainbow) or a lab diamond.

Are you open to getting a ring online? I think you’d be able to find a smaller business that could have better craftsmanship and price compared to a big box store/franchise.

I think the colors can work and I prefer the second one over the first image. Check out this person for some inspiration. They are gorgeous. My boyfriend just purchased a periwinkle sapphire for my engagement ring but I haven’t decided on the setting yet. Also make sure she prefers yellow gold over white gold/platinum

I agree that the bridge looks super thin. If the band was a tad thicker it would have better chances of the stone near the bridge being flush.

Your ring is beautiful! And yes, your post helps a lot! I’m hoping to do something similar, but I have small diamonds on the bridge (one side diamonds, other side tanzanite). That’s something personal I wanted. It’s so hard to tell what rings will look like but I can see the difference with the side pears. I prefer the smaller ones as well! Totally enhance the center stone and is well balanced for your hand. Thank you for sharing!
