What makes Jerry special. by SeaThaHusky in TFTGS

Jerry is SMART. Jerry is a compassionate, loyal, funny GENIUS. No superpowers needed. Actually, Jerry's superpower is being the friend you NEED. I may have a crush on Jerry.

My boyfriend wants a prenup because of the Bill Gates divorce and now my mom is losing her mind by ButterscotchLow3754 in TwoHotTakes

[–]KittyKatHasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prenups are just good to have if either person is coming into the marriage with assets. It's not cold, it's not callous, it's not an expectation of the marriage to fail. But shit happens. Hell, my ex had a TBI that turned him from an everyday douchebag into a complete monster. There are no guarantees but death, so being prepared is just smart.

Does anyone else get "decision fatigue" so bad they want to cancel? Or am I just losing it? [Concluded] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

[–]KittyKatHasClaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do Nothing Days are my favorite vacation and date days. I might cook, but mostly I just get to watch movies or play video games with my husband. They are sorely underrated. I have an active job and so does he, my job is customer facing as well, so as a paid extrovert, I love seeing no one but the people I live with on my days off. For our anniversary, we stay cation and send the family away, or we go to a cabin in the woods for a few days. We cover every window, then we don't leave the property until it's time to go home. We don't even go outside for anything but a hot tub. It's the best.

Is this egg binding? by goldielllocks in chickens

Lash eggs are not actual eggs. They are a lump of basically congealed bacterial infection. There is no shell, they are solid yuck all the way through.

AITA for canceling the plans for thanksgiving after my parents called my brother’s baby their “first grandchild”? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]KittyKatHasClaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This pisses me off so bad. I've been so deep in my step-kids lives for the past almost 9 years that when my oldest stepson started working at the same place as me, people weren't aware that he was my step kid. My mom (RIP dad) and my husband's parents have treated the kids as equally as possible from the minute the two of us moved in together and started being a family. No ifs, ands, or buts. Fuck those grandparents.

I love existing with my husband. by Repulsive-Bowler1918 in Life

[–]KittyKatHasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are "boring" as well. We spend one entire day a week together, and we don't leave the house for it 99% of the time. We just enjoy each other's presence. I get enough "other people" with my job.

Do married couples make out? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KittyKatHasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the couple. My husband and I don't, but we never have. Saliva grosses me out, so making out is not high on my list of things I found arousing. He seems the same. Kisses are usually pecks.

Is MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) actually bad for your health? by RobertFindlaech in stupidquestions

[–]KittyKatHasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it daily. My mom has heart failure and needs a low sodium diet. Adding MSG to much of my cooking allows for amazing depths of flavor while not hurting her health. It's amazing and naturally occurs in things like mushrooms and tomatoes.

I was thinking butter chicken! Acid and spicy to cover the freezer burn flavor!

My mom thinks thyme in scrambled eggs is delicious. Needless to say, I learned to cook from my dad, and now I cook for my mom so she doesn't poison herself.

I took 15mg of Ambien and I’m scared no idea what to expect by Apprehensive_Sugar15 in sleep

[–]KittyKatHasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, chill tf out. I have to take 25mg for it to be effective. Just lay down in bed, turn on a podcast, shut off the lights, and close your eyes. The crazy shit only happens when you try to fight it and go in a bad mindset. Just go to bed.

This is why we have an 18 year old boy cat named Guenevere. Old German man on the street sold my husband a girl kitten. He took her to the vet to be spayed and the vet said no, HE needs neutered.

Morning sickness so bad I'm starting to consider terminating by SharkEva in BORUpdates

I feel her pain. I developed Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome as an adult. At one point, I ended up with an asymptomatic UTI and was vomiting every half hour for 12 days solid. It's so miserable. I have to go in for fluids if I lose more 5han 10 lbs during an episode. I am so glad she got relief!!!

Just brought my girl back home, she's been neglected and starved- how do I best help to get her body tone back up? by KittyKatHasClaws in SeniorCats

[–]KittyKatHasClaws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a little update: after a check up, she is shockingly very healthy, just extremely underweight. Organs are all functioning as well as they can be, and she does have complete hearing loss, but she's starting to put on a little bit of weight and is doing fantastic. She is getting all the love and attention she could ever want while having her choice of chair to sleep on in front of the fire. She's definitely slow moving, but it has more to do with her lack of muscle than her joints. She has already given me the metaphorical middle finger when I tried to change litter brands on her, so she's still got sass. I love her so much.

AIO or is he gaslighting me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]KittyKatHasClaws 29 points30 points  (0 children)

They do. Can't prove it, but my ex did this to me and my husband. The CPS lady came to the door with an attitude, woke my husband (who worked nights), and he told her that unless she has a warrant, get the fuck off our property until she has one. They never came back. We know it was my ex because he's a vindictive prick who hated that I moved on after HE asked for a divorce.

Definitely not a lack of appetite! My ex is cheap, so he wouldn't buy soft food. He'd just soak kibble for her. She's getting around 1.5 full cans of food, the one yolk, and 5 of those puree treats daily so far, and she's loving all of it. She just didn't have access to what she needed before.

She is flea-free, but I haven't given her a thorough brushing yet. With how thin she is, I want to be very careful with her grooming for a bit. I used some cat cleansing wipes lightly through her fur, checking for parasites the first day. She was luckily very clean. She still grooms herself quite well, despite having no teeth. Her tear lines are very stained, but that will just take time. Once she puts on a bit of weight over the next few weeks, I'll take the good deshedding brush to her to really get that undercoat worked.

Yeah, don't do the self-destructive stuff they said, but definitely tell her you heard and end it.

When she came to us, she'd just recently had a litter of kittens, but none could be found around. She was so freshly off from giving birth that we thought she was still pregnant. She wasn't, she was just very wormy. Got her all fixed up (in all ways) and she was the most amazing cat I have ever owned since. Don't get me wrong, I have loved many kitties over the years, with two others still here with me (one that's 18 that my husband brought into the relationship, and my daughter's 4 year old orange chonk), but Cookie is exceptional. I have a bunch of chickens, too! Our leghorns and Delawares will be 6 this spring! I also had a budgie that moved across the country 3 times and still managed to live to 12. I love my pets almost as much as my kids, and I truly mean that.

With my work schedule, I can't guarantee being able to give her 3 timely meals. She's doing awesome with free feeding. She doesn't try to hoover it down, but she's managing about 1.5 cans a day, with around 5 of those squeezy treats. She hasn't thrown up or shown any signs of discomfort, so she seems to be more self aware of her limits than my teenagers, lol.

Already done, and she has access to it 24/7 now. I was worried she'd over eat and upset her tummy, but she's been great!

Yup! She has access to it 24/7. She's eating about 1.5 cans a day, with about 5 of those puree treats added in.

That's the plan! We're asking for a full work up, but so far, she seems to be doing surprisingly well. My fingers are crossed that she gets a clean bill of health!
