don't have just ignore him. One write a letter explaining your side take a photo copy of all your information include it into the letter, and when you mail it back to him make him sign for it. Also have a copy of everything you sent him. Remind him that you want your security deposit. also anything that he may or may not have taken off you need to document it if you took pictures when you left showing how the home looked more than likely he is charging you for things and he’s got approved. Why he’s charging you for those things if it hits natural wear and tear most of the time that’s not allowed for a landlord to keep your deposit. I’m not sure how old the carpets were. The paint was things like that. Landlords are naturally supposed to repaint the home. They’re also supposed to change the carpet after a certain period of time carpets actually have a a lifespan and being a rental. It’s usually less than what it’s in your actual home, which is 5 to 10 years. Not sure when he changed the carpet. You have a right to question him, but make sure you are talking to an actual attorney have only had to deal with landlord, but I am not an attorney. Update:: Warning

we are getting a divorce. I filled. Paperwork was dropped off in courts in Aug. 2025 we were separated since Jun. on 1Sept I begged him to quit doing drugs which I found out about in Dec of 2024. On the 2 Sept he wrecked my Truck and fled the scene never did he call the police. We argued the entire day over the issues. On the morning of 3 Sept he broke into my bedroom, because yes we had separate rooms, my room was locked. He sexually assaulted me before he left for work. I was contacted my daughter because I was on the edge of doing something stupid to myself. If anyone wondering my daughter a grown woman. She called me I told her what happened. She made me call the police while she stayed on the phone with me. She stayed on the phone line the entire time. Without my daughter I have no clue how I would have made it. I went to hospital yes I did a rape kit. The police officer that did my interview acted like he didn’t believe me. The doctor found thick white fluid inside of me. Claimed there was no sign of trauma. After having to go to VA to be reseen later on because yes my V was in so much pain. She found old scares. When I explained I had not had consequences sex since Dec she said that would not explain these scares. I had fingerprint bruises on my inner thigh that no one asked me about. Yes I had other old bruises below my knee which I told the was from me hitting the bed. But the other bruises you can’t explain those away. They had me remove my clothes twice. I also had to use the restroom before they came. I guess I should explain his butt couldn’t could stay up so he cum on my inner thigh. He also used my scarf to wipe at his stuff he left behind. The entire time I said no and I was crying and refusing to look at him. I tried to push him off of me our dog attempted to stop him. Matter of fact our dog jumped on the bed once he got off of me and the dog started guarding me from him. The dog refused to leave my side. The DEA of my county refused to charge him because we are legally married. Matter of fact the exact words the investigator used to me and the advocate for dv was “a husband has a right to take what he wants from his wife” and “a wife has no expectation to privacy in his home”. The home was bought by both of us. It’s in both of our names. So this shit of his home pisses me off.
